The Trump administration was rocked Friday afternoon by a bombshell report saying Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last year suggested secretly recording President Trump to expose chaos in the White House and enlisting Cabinet members to invoke the 25thAmendment to remove him from office.
Rosenstein adamantly denied the accusations.

“The New York Times’s story is inaccurate and factually incorrect,” he said in a statement to Fox News. “I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda. But let me clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.”

The Times report said Rosenstein's proposal was never acted upon, though he reportedly told then-Deputy FBI Director Andy McCabe that he could try to persuade Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Gen. John Kelly to help him.
