This is RON Paul, and he's been speaking out against abuses of civil liberties for 30 years. Unlike partisans who only look at the Patriot Act or only look at the TSA's new policies.

I have wondered why passenger planes are not made in two pieces, with the passenger section set for ejection, with cargo parachutes to bring the people cannister section to the ground, while pilots could eject, or come to low altitude and land the craft.

The fuel economy of such an aircraft would make the ticket prices skyrocket to the point that no one could afford to fly. Also the structure might be too heavy to get off the ground in the first place.

How about we strap the passengers into their seat with a special electronic buckle. Then the air marshall has to escort the person to and from the bathroom, and lock him down again.

like what? truthful? libs historically are anti-gun...anti-2nd amendment...they think taking away guns from people will prevent crime....it doesn't.....

Taking away liquids and taking porno scans aren't going to stop crime either...you don't go after the 99.9% innocent....you need to go after the criminal...

I'm not anti-law enforcement. I fully support the Air Marshal program. I'd like to see dogs used to sniff for bombs. I'm starting to see these scanners are over the top. And those pat downs are to much.

Aside from that..there is a case for removing liquids...and other security measures. I don't think cell phones or lap tops should be allowed in the passenger area of a plane. There should be enhanced screening of cargo. And the fact there are three check points is a very good idea.

There is something blatantly wrong with refusing to profile because we might hurt somebody's feelings, and instead implementing a program in which children and old folks private parts are aggressively groped.

In my eyes, it is selfish to insist on flying if you are not prepared to do what is necessary to ensure your fellow passenegers are safe.

"Do what is necessary" being the operative phrase. What they have started doing isn't necessary and regarding being selfish, I find it incredibly selfish of you to think you can step on my civil liberties to give yourself a false sense of security.

And as for "profiling" as the alternative? It will open the door to those that wish to harm us strapping explosive materials on children and other innocent victims.

Why do you continue to insist that when people say "profiling" they are strictly talking about Muslims? Behavioral profiling is a huge part of profiling. Seeing how people react to questions they are asked, pupil dilation, do they appear overly nervous, etc.

You keep bringing up Timothy McVeigh as if he would simply slip through airline security because he is white and not Muslim, but airport security in Israel stopped Anne-Marie Murphy, a white Irish woman, from trying to carry a bomb onto a plane in 1986.

I think the extreme pat-downs are worse than the naked scanner. I think the pat-downs should be eliminated as an option. Honestly, the thing I'm most worried about is a kid or teenager getting groped because their parents didn't want them going through the scanner.
