I don't agree with Dr. Paul on every thing because only a dimwitted buffoon would agree with every thing another person believes in. You have to start thinking for yourself at some point in life. Dr. Paul can be a bit of a purist with no room for compromise. That's probably the only fault i can find with him. That being said,i do agree with Dr. Paul on most things. Blow Back is real and more people should read up on it and see what the consequences have been for our nation as a result of many years of aggressive foreign interventionism. Ron Paul wouldn't disagree with that. But he realizes that if you bomb people, put sanctions on them, and occupy their countries they tend to get a little angry at that. There are evil people in the world, there can be no question. However, many of the people that turn to the extremists do so because of our foreign policy that has a direct impact on their lives. Whether they've lost friends or families to our troops or bombs, or are suffering due to our sanctions, or simply don't want an American military presence on their land.

We've been involved in the ME for a very long time. So the question isn't really valid.
But our first involvement came in suppressing the Barbary Pirates in the early 19th century. So if you want to maintain that people in the ME hate us because we suppressed the Barbary Pirates go right ahead. It will just confirm most people's opinion of you as an ignorant boob.

We have gone to war to defend Muslim interests, specifically in Kosovo and former Yugoslavia. We have defended them in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. We have aided them against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. And none of that has done anything.
