Mussilini was the only one who every identified himself as a fascist and for a very long time he was a socialist but he nuked the communist version of that in favor of the emerging national socialism ideas that sprung up after WWI.

I am equating the Right Wings rabid need for all Republicans to conform to their brand of politics with Nazis. I am also equating the new Conservative movement's ideas of cultural conformity and control, the anti-immigration stance, the yearning for strong effective leadership and their ideas that private industry is most effective in the marketplace with Nazi-ism. Remember, Mercedes made trucks and other transport, BMW made airplanes and Krups made artillery. The means of production during Hitler's reign of terror remained firmly in private hands.
