GOP Ron Paul - Five Million Dollar Man?
Thursday, June 07, 2007 - FreeMarketNews.com

Congressman Ron Paul’s donations have moved up - not by hundreds of thousands - but by millions as a result of his debate performances and groundswell of support on the Internet and in New Hampshire, observers close to the campaign say.

The move is especially impressive since as of March 31, 2007, he had perhaps $500,000 on hand (see candidate estimates below).

FMNN had previously reported – after the GOP presidential debate in South Carolina - that candidate Ron Paul’s (R-Tex) donations, large and small, had nearly doubled.

Now observers close to the campaign are revealing – with some astonishment – that donations to the campaign in recent weeks have pushed the total up to perhaps $4 or $5 million.

5 Million bucks in 2 months with no corporate backing. The people of this country want Ron Paul's integrity in the Oval Office.

Ron will easily be able to compete, state by state, with the so called "front-runners".

Wake up and smell the PATRIOTISM.

He's not going anwhere but home. At best he will just further fragment the Republican party and ensure we get a Dem President.

What do you base this conclusion on?

Please don't say you base it on anything you see in the mainstream media. They won't even benignly cover Ron unless it's during the day when everyone's at work, or it's to marginalize and discredit him.

He's a threat to the interests of corporate America, which are usually NEVER the same interests of the people.

He is the kind of man that the people of America really want in office, but the problem is that he doesn't get the same kind of exposure as the corporate stooges.

Please stop making it a party issue. So many people that i've talked to are switching party's to vote for Ron.

I campaign for this man in my area, and you would be amazed at the response we get from people. He has people doing this all over the country, and actually in 5 other countries. He has about half the amount of money as the corporate candidates, which all comes from individuals.

Whats so hard to accept about this man? If a bill isn't legal constitutionally, he votes NO. Why is that considered bad?

Why is it considered bad to not want to intervene in another sovereign nation's business? This doesn't make him an "isolationist" as he is so unfairly labeled. There is a huge difference between non-interventionism, and isolationism. Right now, the government picks on countries that have absolutely no means of posing any type of national security risk to the US, but we don't touch countries like North Korea, who actually shoot missiles.

Could it be that there is no real economic benefit to pre-emptively invading, and changing regimes in North Korea? Don't you think if Iran was doing the same thing as NK, we would have already invaded?

Why is it so hard for people to see what the real intentions are when it comes to the U.S. foreign policy?

The reason libtards like RP so much is because Hitlery would wipe the motherfucking floor with him.

When you see Leftists supporting a man who's vehemently pro-gun and pro-life, and anti-gay marriage - you need to look at what their ulterior motives are.

Ask yourself - why else would they support a whackjob Losertarian whose views are the diametric opposites of their own?

And don't give me that "Constitution waa waa waa... " crap. You liberals HATE the Constitution, as evidenced by your rabid support for Sarah Brady's fascist infringement on my Second Amendment rights. So take your fake support for RP and your fake support for the Constitution and shove it up your collective fucking asses! You libtards make me fucking sick!

Predicition: Paulitics' reply starts with what every libtard writes after you call him/her out for being a liberal...

"But, I'm a lifelong conservative... "

You liberals

I'm sorry, have we ever met?

I'm neither conservative nor liberal. I'm an individualist, and i support the States' rights to decide their own laws. I have conservative views on some issues, and i have liberal views on some issues, but ultimately my views are considered individualist. Every person governs only themselves. That is a true free society.

You'd rather have big business make your decisions for you?

Don't justify his invective with an answer.

Hmmm...I don't know. 5 million really isn't all tha much. Most of the other candidates (except McCain, who wasn't really trying) have raised at least 3 to 5 times that amount. Besides, he's still polling lower than Fred Thompson and Newt Gingreich, neither of whom has even declared their candidacy yet.

Ron Paul is an isolationist who would leave the world to the machinations of the Russians and Chinese, and allow Iran to dominate the Persian Gulf. His stated foreign policy isolationism would be an abject disaster for the West. The threat of US isolationism is what Tony Blair has been warning about for the past 6 years. The Euro leftists who hate America would be delighted if an isolationist US President came to power; so would the Russians and Chinese. Al Qaeda would be thrilled. Paul makes sticking your head in the sand look like climbing Mt. Everest.

His poll numbers are brutal, but the amount of money he's raises isn't bad considering how anti-Washington Establishment he is.

He's not going to win, that is true. But that doesn't mean that a vote for him is wasted. Ross Perot took votes away from a lukewarm Rockefeller republican like George Bush I, but his numbers were a slap in the face to republicans. They woke up and came out with the contract for america during the next election cycle, and won in a landslide, breaking the democrats' 40 year stranglehold on the congress. Besides, if republicans keep pushing the pro-war platform, they are going to lose again just like they did during the last election.

Ask yourself - why else would they support a whackjob Losertarian whose views are the diametric opposites of their own?

Because his views on foreign policy are a refreshing change from the modern republican mainstream? His views are not perfect opposites of theirs. They do disagree with him on welfare state issues, but agree with him on warfare state issues. The opposite is true for modern conservatives.

Ron Paul is an isolationist who would leave the world to the machinations of the Russians and Chinese, and allow Iran to dominate the Persian Gulf. The Russians and Chinese keep their troops on their own soil, to my knowledge. Russia isn't going to invade europe, since they make all their money selling oil and gas to them. China isn't going to be attacking Japan, Korea, or the US, seeing as how we are their customers and they are our bankers (holding over a trillion dollars of US debt). Iran would be in no position to dominate the Persian Gulf if we hadn't toppled surrounding governments, thus handing them over on a silver platter. And Al Qaeda is thrilled by our invasions, as it had enabled them to attract new recruits and kill americans without the bother of getting a plane ticket or sneaking into america.

Really? Tell that to Georgia. Certainly the thousands of missiles pointed at Taiwan speak to the peaceful nature of the totalitarians in Beijing. Regardless, Iran does threaten to dominate the Gulf, and the enactment of Ron Paul's hide behind our borders foreign policy would guarantee that. There are more pathways to foreign intervention than mere physical invasion by troops. Even if we had no troops in any Middle East nation, Russian made aircraft carrier killing supersonic cruise missiles would still be pointed at the US Navy from the shores of Iran. Perhaps you suggest the Navy should withdraw from the Gulf? Ron Paul's head-in-the-sand foreign policy would be a complete disaster for the West. Thankfully, it has about as much can of happening as Ron Paul becomming President: zero.

This is exactly why he will NEVER become president.

You can predict with precision any legislation and or election based on who's best interest is involved.

Which is Corporate and Government.

If it is not in the best interest of the Government or North American, and Global Corporations, it will never happen.

No one considered a threat to corporate America will ever get elected.

"Congressman Ron Paul is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution."

"Ron Paul was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Gettysburg College and the Duke University School of Medicine, before proudly serving as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force during the 1960s. He and his wife Carol moved to Texas in 1968, where he began his medical practice in Brazoria County. As a specialist in obstetrics/gynecology, Dr. Paul has delivered more than 4,000 babies. He and Carol, who reside in Lake Jackson, Texas, are the proud parents of five children and have 17 grandchildren."

Did you watch it?
I do not view Comedy Central as good for anything other than reruns of Scrubs. However, I have watched Ron Paul in all three televised Republican debates, and I have seen him interviewed on MSNBC cable news TV. I am aware of his antediluvian political philosophy. I find Paul's blame America analysis of terrorism, and his head-in-the-sand prescription for US foreign policy, to be both fallacious and dangerous.
