Why dont you just see what happens to your own life by paying only half your bills?

Well, was the video posted in the OP an example of a fair and balanced interview by Fox News? I think not, the host's agenda is obvious and the host kept Paul on point, when he moved onto territory which does not sit well with the ideology of the corporation, Paul was brought back on point - criticize Obama.

Paul and Odd-dude declare thre is no crisis pending. Time will tell; and we'll see what happens in a little over a week. Or maybe as soon as tomorrow. It we lose our AAA rating Monday, or if the Asian markets react to Boehners walk negatively, things may change in a hurry.

I generally like Ron Paul, but when he speaks to the base of the GOP (who else watches Fox and takes it seriously) he goes out there and that is why he'll never get the nomination for POTUS.

That's not how it happens. The President can prioritize payments. If he wants to pay SS he will. If he wants to pay the defense dept he will (and I know he will, I just know) If there's no more money left to pay other gov't programs well tough luck, maybe we should have had em' in the first place. And printing money to pay for that will only inflate our currency and drive down our purchasing power, which is like a hidden tax.

What happened when I experienced too many bills and not enough paycheck 3 years ago? I IMMEDIATELY stopped taking on more debt and prioritized payments. I paid off more than 14K in credit cards and thanks to 3 years of my own self imposed austerity I now have money to spend, invest and pay off my two houses early.

Americans have been doing what Congress needs to be doing.

Oh there's a crisis pending alright but it doesn't have anything to do with raising the debt ceiling again.

I wrote in ron paul in nov. 2008...and you voted for who? :eusa_whistle:

I voted for Obama. Where would the nation be if Ron Paul had won the Presidency in 2008?

god knows, but I will say;
a) I never bought the Obama hype and feel, unfortunately, vindicated,
b) McCain is an imbecile and was a stalking horse for the dems and the media and have little respect for dopey rep establishment that sppted him.

I will surmise;
c) we would be out of Afghanistan, no Libya
d) we would be in the midst of or pulling away from a heavier fiscal/financial malaise but with a brighter future.

and we would be back in the 60's socially. I know for some that would be fine, but I personally can not even imagine this.

Libertarians are freaking nuts.

repeat after Matthews- bbbbbbaaaaaaaaaaaa

Only Politician who makes sense these days. Ron Paul is the only Politician i bother taking the time to listen to. The rest are just Blah Blah Blah to me.

So those of you who don't like Ron Paul: Do you have any actual arguments against what he said, or are you going to continue with this "He is crazy, we will be back in the 60s, etc." nonsense?

Anyone who doesn't tow the Socialist/Progressive/Neocon Party Line is immediately labeled "Crazy." They completely own the MSM. I think many Americans are catching onto this game though. Dr. Paul is anything but "Crazy." He's a good & honorable man.

We simply put, can't afford your 2010 society. If we can afford a 60's society is that not better than ensuring the inevitable crash of borrowing until collapse?
