The Governor pledges to cut 10% of Federal Government Jobs. From his website:

Reduce The Federal Workforce By 10 Percent Via Attrition — Savings: $4 Billion. Despite widespread layoffs in the private sector, President Obama has continued to grow the federal payrolls. The federal workforce can be reduced by 10 percent through a “1-for-2” system of attrition, thereby reducing the number of federal employees while allowing the introduction of new talent into the federal service.

Free Republic's website place the figure at 2.8 million employees. So 10 percent will be 280,000 employees getting a pink slip with Romney being elected. Bain's business model inflicted on the US is a bad proposition.

The savings is $4B or something close to what, less than .5% of the federal debt?

Good.

Only 200,000 cuts? Hell, he should cut 2,000,000 federal jobs. The majority of these "feds" are lazy-assed, over-paid incompetents. Take a stroll through the U.S. DOT some day through a sea of fraud, waste and abuse. That's just one example. Washington, D.C. is loaded with these lazy do nothing fucks.

Good for him. I think the government needs to be cut way back. Too many piglets sucking on the government sow's teats.

You all do understand that if Mittens is elected and the UE rate goes up (which it sounds like it will under his bullshit plans) he will be absolutley pounded for the increase in UE.

And it will be so much fun. And a great payback.

But Mittens isn't going to cut no Federal jobs. The rethugs have a storied history of increasing the federal debt and increasing the number of guvmint jobs.

I mean in Mass, the fastest growth in jobs was in the state guvmint. And there has never been a Rethug president that cut federal guvmint spending.

You rethugs are delusional. Only worried about deficits and guvmint jobs when a rethug isn't in the WH.

Still on the teat.

Is he? Seems awfully hypocritical then. Not surprising though.

Those people will find jobs in a stablized business community. It's too few, but as an initial cut, a good start.

The left doesn't get it. TO them a job is a job. So if gov't hires people to dig ditches, that lowers unemployment. And it provides a multiplier because they spend the money they "earn". This is the "logic" behind Nancy Pelosi sayng food stamps were a stimulus, and other ignorant stupid statements of the sort.

Good.

Then why are you folks criticizing the UE rate?

Most of the UE during the Obama Presidency is coming from the Public sector. You should be pleased.

Whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, that 4 billion in savings will not amount to anything once it's offset by the amount of revenue loss in the huge tax cut Romney wants to give to himself and those in his tax bracket.

Once again, Romney reminds us that his plan for national austerity and sacrifice falls on everyone except him and the rest of the Rich.

No..that's basically correct.

You folks think cutting taxes on people with more money then they can hope to spend in several life times, while the method of generating revenue they employ costs the government more then they put into the kitty is "stimulative".

It is not.

And that's been proven over and over.

When these folks get their tax cuts..they wind up hoarding it.

Delusional as usual. I just wish it is your job or the job of someone you care for that is cut. I bet you wish the same thing. Don't you?

Or do you feel safe wishing misfortune on someone else because you have no job. Living off SSI.

I think it only fair that when those guvmint layoffs happen (BIG IF) that the first people that go are the ones that voted Rethug. Wouldn't that be "fair"? And appropriate?

And yet, ironically, it's Republicans who are complaining the loudest that the sequester cuts coming up in January are going to result in big layoffs in the defense industry.
