What a joke. Both candidates say they will NOT enforce the law and will let millions of illegals stay here and apply for work permits while 40 million americans can't find work.

Romney won't deport illegal immigrants with temporary legal status - Washington Times

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

DENVER — Moving to soften his immigration stance ever so slightly, Mitt Romney said this week he will not immediately deport the illegal immigrants granted tentative legal status by President Obama — and the Republican nominee also set a soft deadline for getting a broader immigration bill done in 18 months.

Mr. Romney had previously refused to say whether he would allow Mr. Obama’s non-deportation policy to stand, but on Monday he told The Denver Post that those who received “deferred action” — an official notice that they have a two-year reprieve from deportation — “should expect the visa to continue to be valid” if he is elected.

“The people who have received the special visa that the president has put in place, which is a two-year visa, should expect that the visa would continue to be valid. I’m not going to take something that they’ve purchased,” Mr. Romney told the Denver newspaper. “Before those visas have expired, we will have the full immigration reform plan that I’ve proposed.”

Current US immigration law requires persons who have entered the US illegally must return to their home countries and wait for 10 years before applying for a visa. Since this law is not working, and we are not about to deport 10+ million people, let's issue temporary visas to these people conditioned on them being self supporting and paying federal income and social security taxes WITHOUT ANY ACCRUED BENEFITS for 10 years, after which they would be given permanent visas. If they fail to register or have committed a serious crime they should be deported, and illegal return to the US after deportation should be a felony.

And what about the 10 million of the 76 million unemlpoyed actual American citizens who can't get jobs now because they are already taken by illegals?

It would work just fine if it was enforced. But obozo has announced he is not going to enforce the immigration laws. That's impeachable.

That's the question the republicans should be shouting. But they don't ask it.
