If you have a new plane, and you use it, it's no longer a new plane.
Therefore, it's worth less. Thus you are not going to make a profit on selling a plane that has been used.
That point of it was to get rid of a large needless operating expense.
The purpose of the plane was just a luxury for the governor.
Sarah Palin cared more about the taxpayers and there her own comfort.
Compare that to obama, who goes on million dollar dates at taxpayers' expense.

This isn't directed toward you Army.
Obviously, there is a loss of value, it's a used plane that has depreciated.
If you have a 2010 Honda Accord, and you sell it in 2015, with 100,000 miles on it, you will have a loss on the sale.
If you have a plane the longer you have it the more it depreciates and the less it's valuable.
The point is that Sarah Palin saved the operating expense by selling it at the expense of her own personal comfort.
Once again, Obama, on the other hand, takes million dollar dates at taxpayers' expense.
It's a difference in integrity.
