Romney playing dirty?

"In a blatant challenge to the legislative branch, Obama by executive order tossed out the Clinton-era welfare reform that required able-bodied aid recipients to work, saying the federal government will no longer enforce the law."

Someday you'll need to learn how to do real research so that you can evaluate the veracity of the claims you parrot.

No reforms have been tossed out, nor have any requirements changed in any state.

False.
Clearly, you are a non-dimensional individual with a one-dimensional view of the world.

Or....simply answer the question.
Does the President have the constitutional ability to offer options forbidden by a law?

Or don't answer if the correct response is...'no.'

"This reform was very successful. TANF became the only welfare program (out of more than 70) that promoted greater self-reliance. It moved 2.8 million families off the welfare rolls and into jobs so that they were providing for themselves. Child poverty fell, and single-parent employment rose. Recipients were required to perform at least 20–30 hours per week of work or job preparation activities in exchange for the cash benefit.

Now, Obama’s HHS is claiming that it can waive those work requirements that are at the heart of the law, and without Congress’s consent.

When it established TANF, Congress deliberately exempted or shielded nearly all of the TANF program from waiver authority. They explicitly did not want the law to be rewritten at the whim of HHS bureaucrats. In a December 2001, the non-partisan Congressional Research Service clarified that there was no authority to override work and other major requirements: “Effectively, there are no TANF waivers,” it reported.

But that did not stop the Obama Administration, which has been increasing welfare spending at an alarming rate already. President Obama has added millions to the welfare rolls, and his Administration has come under fire lately for its efforts to expand and add more Americans to the food stamp program.
Thurber's Thoughts: Obama kills welfare reform, violates law at same time

Romney isn't playing dirty, he picked up filth when he chose Ryan however.

“I can’t resist a basketball analogy,” Obama told the crowd, according to a White House pool report. “We are in the fourth quarter. We’re up by a few points but the other side is coming on strong and they play a little dirty.”

What? So far, Obama is the only one throwing out smears. Obama didn't even bother to back-up his gutter rhetoric with any supporting examples. He's a joke.

Well, Romney is whining like he got his magic underwear put into a wedgie, yeah...

What's your point?

Most Republicans don't lie. they make "mistatements". But Romney is a "legitimate" liar...

I will have to defend Obama, not having the foggiest idea what you are talking about and lying are two different things. He was sincere in what he said, he just is too incompetent to get it done, just as we said he was. Too tied into failed economic policy. Too much a narcissist to admit a mistake and correct it so we continue to travel the road to destruction.

And there you have it. No state has even submitted a request that would do anything to "gut" the work requirements of TANF. Nothing has changed in any state.

Much ado about nothing, aided in large part by empty-headed folks who don't realize they've been played.

So do you work for the Obama Administration?

Also, "not submitting a request" means that the requirement is gone, right?

Also, "not submitting a request" means that the requirement is gone, right?

The 1115 waiver process requires a state that has an innovative idea to submit a waiver request to HHS, along with an evaluation plan, that the state and HHS then work together to refine.

Until a state comes up with a proposal, lays out goals and concrete indicators for proving they're being achieved, and develops a robust evaluation plan that will show whether or not they're achieving better employment outcomes than they would in the absence of the waiver (if they're not, their waiver will be terminated), nothing changes.

I'm not aware of any state that's even developed a proposal yet. So no, nothing has been waived and nothing has changed.

And STILL dodging the question of employment... :eusa_shhh:

And STILL dodging the question of employment... :eusa_shhh:

ACF was very clear on this point: any state seeking approval to try something innovative will have to achieve better employment outcomes for TANF.

As described below, however, HHS will only consider approving waivers relating to the work participation requirements that make changes intended to lead to more effective means of meeting the work goals of TANF.
Moreover, HHS is committed to ensuring that any demonstration projects approved under this authority will be focused on improving employment outcomes and contributing to the evidence base for effective programs;

If you've found something worth criticizing in a proposal some state has put forward for consideration by HHS, by all means let's see it. I'd love to know which states are thinking of using this flexibility to pursue new solutions and what they're proposing to do.

The most prominent example at the moment would be the bullshit Romney fabricated about the TANF work requirements being eliminated. It's false and he knows it--and if he didn't know it, every fact checker and Bill Clinton, the guy he features in his ads, have now let him in on that fact. Romney's a liar whose found himself a lie he seems to really enjoy.

He didn't ask for them.

He stated Obama couldn't back up his blathering.

Maybe you should go to work for them if you don't already.

I think Romney's just waiting with the "good stuff" on Obama until closer to election. Obama started right out with the smears and lies, he's not going to have much to go on pretty soon. He'll have shot his wad too early! Lol!

Good point. Where do you go after accusing your opponent of killing a woman with Cancer, and portraying his Vice Presidential candidate as literally throwing an old woman out of her wheelchair and over a cliff?

It is, by far, the biggest bullshit ad running. Romney is a obviously desperate.

So desperate because he's beating the pants off Obama in fundraising? Every indicator is that this election will be a blowout for Romney. It's 2010 all over.

I'll give you your choice. You can have a bigot pellet, a nutjob pellet, or a troll pellet. You can only pick one though.

I'll be honest; Romney is running the cleanest presidential campaign I've seen in my lifetime (to date). Everything has been on the up and up. He's not engaged in lies and he has largely avoided innuendo even.

Both Politifcat and Factcheck.org have cited the Romney campaign for dishonesty on the TANF ad he ran. Sorry Klanny.

You must've been pretty mad when Obama made fun of your games.

He's not 'desperate'. The research is on his side... and I know how the left value academic outcomes....

Analysis of election factors points to Romney win, University of Colorado study says | University of Colorado Boulder

According to their analysis, President Barack Obama will win 218 votes in the Electoral College, short of the 270 he needs. And though they chiefly focus on the Electoral College, the political scientists predict Romney will win 52.9 percent of the popular vote to Obama’s 47.1 percent, when considering only the two major political parties.

“For the last eight presidential elections, this model has correctly predicted the winner,” said Berry. “The economy has seen some improvement since President Obama took office. What remains to be seen is whether voters will consider the economy in relative or absolute terms. If it’s the former, the president may receive credit for the economy’s trajectory and win a second term. In the latter case, Romney should pick up a number of states Obama won in 2008.”

Their model correctly predicted all elections since 1980, including two years when independent candidates ran strongly, 1980 and 1992. It also correctly predicted the outcome in 2000, when Al Gore received the most popular vote but George W. Bush won the election.

Just sayin'.

OBAMA-BACKING NBA STAR DENIES TIES TO DRUG DEALERS AFTER APPEARING IN PRO-DRUG ‘STOP SNITCHING’ DVD

Carmelo Anthony Appears in Pro-Drug Dealing ‘Stop Snitching’ DVD; Denies Ties to Drug Dealers | Video | TheBlaze.com

Anthony has defended his participation, saying that the “stop snitching” message is pervasive, even in mainstream music videos, while strictly denying that he associates with drug dealers. However, community activists have complained about his participation, claiming that his appearance will make drug dealing look like the only route to success.

Do you really want to play that game?
Mitt Romney recently attended a campaign rally in Florida that was hosted by a man who was part of a drug ring that was caught trying to smuggle over 2,000 pounds of cocaine into America.

Reinaldo Bermudez, 38, is the owner of Palacio de los Jugos, located in Miami, Florida. Bermudez was a member of a gang that was arrested in 1997 for trying to smuggle over a ton of cocaine into The United States. He served 3 years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.

Yep, the best election money can buy.
