Romney once supported conservation and fuel effecient cars

Mitt Romney Once Touted Carpools, Fuel-Efficient Vehicles

But now he is playing the Far Right card. Keep up the good work Mitt! You got em all fooled!:2up::2up:

I have nothing against fuel effecient cars or taking care of the environment. I'm a republican.

What's wrong with allowing auto corperations to giving their customers high gas mileage cars? I also support clean water and thank god we no longer have to choke on coal ash during the day time. It's the level that the leftist will go to is what concerns me.

Why would any republican be against either?

He will again too. After the election, win or lose.

Yup, he is doing what he has to do to get the nomination. He will move back to the middle after November. He has shown the tendency over and over to play the field.

What's wrong with taking care of the environment or making cars that can travel longer/gallon of gas? Yes we want limited government, but those two points of view aren't against republicanism.

Will the real Mitt Romney please stand up?:lol::lol::lol:

Then why do most all the right wingers on here make fun of any effort at alternative energy sources?

We make fun at increasing the size of the government to do it...If Private corps can do it=a'ok!

People learn more..and sometimes change their minds. That's a republican...they'll listen and will admit if they have changed their minds by listening to the truth. Unlike Dems...won't admit to any wrongs.

Can you show the problem..? Show the terrible contradiction in words on the page for us to see and consider for ourselves. He was for this and now he was for that? SOMEthing beyond snarky inferences of "flip flop". Show the flip. Show the flop.

Mittens once supported just about anything you can name and he will again or not but maybe so, maybe not.

What we know about Mittens is that his word has no value, he cannot be trusted, cannot be depended on. Every day, its something else, some new "gaffe", something else, utterly stupid that the rw's will dance all around and make excuses for. His own wife says he should not speak in public and his top aid says he has all dependability of an Etch-A-Sketch and that they just shake him every day and feed him his new opinion.

Grover Norquist is right and is doing the happiest Happy Dance of his career and Bush's Brain, Karl Rove and rubbing his grubby little paws together because they both know the rw's can be conned into "holding their noses" and voting for this joke and they both know Mittens will follow their orders.

Hard to imagine a worse choice for the leader of the free world - except every single one of the other Clown Car Candidates.

OMG.....Romney is for fuel efficient cars (gasp). Republicans only drive trucks (uh-huh) with gun racks, because that's what Obamination told you.

I'm sure this will be breaking news very soon and he will then go hang himself on the nearest tree.....

What is it with the left? If they continue their ignorant way of judging the voters they will find themselves in a worse landslide than they saw in the last congressional election. The desperate attempt to split the republican vote is kind of funny and juvenile.

I know a great many Republicans who believe in conservation and energy efficiency. It's not all libs who invent fuel efficient cars and appliances.

There is a difference between encouraging it and forcing people to make changes that likely won't make a difference.

Many are upset about the low flow toilets that need to be flushed 10 times instead of once, inadequate appliances, curly lightbulbs, etc. Of course, some defend Obama by saying it's not the Dems doing it, but the Bush administration. If people are upset about something, the Dems run from it. If people are happy, they rush to take credit. Who knows who did what.

Cars that get great mileage would be nice, if most could afford them. And it might be smart to have an alternative in place before we start forcing people to change. With the cap and trade policies being secretly put into place by Obama's EPA chief, people will suffer the higher prices as companies are penalized. They demand that people make changes without giving any thought to how the average person already conserves simply because they cannot afford not to. Those who receive government aid, from food stamps to government housing and help with utilities probably don't conserve as much because they face no consequences either way. It's those of us who pay our own way who will bear the brunt. It's already a burden, but the cost will be passed on to consumers when the EPA regulations squeeze companies. Always hits the middle class.

The notion that only Dems want to conserve energy or respect the earth is the biggest myth of this century. While many Republicans encourage conservation and create better technology, many Dems are counting on the trilliions of dollars that the global warming "solutions" will bring. It's not about the planet, it's about investment payoffs and saving pensions of some countries. It's about money and power, not making a difference with the environment. Take the grotesque profits from Gore and his ilk and maybe we'll believe it's about something other than their own selfish interests.

And that is exactly why most the Dems I know think Obama and Mitt are more alike than not. Mitt will do whatever he can to succeed. When and if he is elected, he will moderate to pursue another term.
