“We are the only people on the earth that put our hand over our heart during the playing of the national anthem. It was FDR who asked us to do that, in honor of the blood that was being shed by our sons and daughters in far-off places.”

— Mitt Romney, Feb. 2, 2012

Japan and Brazil, that disprove Romney’s claim of American exceptionalism. (Mara Liasson of NPR sent us the Russia clip.)

The "American Conservative"? Really?

Of course he'd choose to intentionally lie, because he wouldn't expect anyone to call him out on it since that shit is so rare in political circles. Really, you look foolish even posing the question.

Interesting history.

As for Mittens, when was the last time we heard anything true from him? Now he just runs from questions from voters and reporters. Probably smart thing for him to do.

Yes, I can see you are correct. I'm sorry. I should know better.

Originally, the pledge was said with the right hand in the so-called “Bellamy Salute,” with the right hand resting first outward from the chest, then the arm extending out from the body. Once Hitler came to power in Europe, some Americans were concerned that this position of the arm and hand resembled the Nazi or Fascist salute. In 1942 Congress also established the current practice of rendering the pledge with the right hand over the heart.

Pledge of Allegiance

Obama has met his match?

On campaign trail, Romney skips questions in taking up mantle of likely GOP nominee - The Washington Post

OTOH, and as you well know, President Obama seeks out both voters and reporters and listens and talks to both. To say otherwise is dishonest and rather idiotic. you SHOULD know that too.

You mean while FDR was President, eh?

So what exactly is Romney supposedly lying about now?

No idea. Maybe you should work on that before you post stupid things.

Give it a rest nit-picking Huffers.

I just posted a link to the Washington Post.

Should I have gotten your permission first?

Funny that right wingers expect you to provide links but they rarely do.
until you supply links in the Threads you started and you ran from after saying some of the shit you posted in them Dean you are the last person that should be accusing someone else of doing it.....
