Romney lends credence to global-warming hysteria, i.e., "politics by scientism"

So, in the whole world, every Scientific Society, every National Academy of Science, and every major University states that AGW is real, and a clear and present danger.

I guess that means that just about every scientist in the world is a 'Lefty' by your measure.

Everyone knows that the average global surface temperature rose by 0.9°F between 1880 to roughly 2001, and perhaps human activity has contributed to that rise to some extent.

So?

"Clear and present danger"? :lol:

The temperature has also been going down ever since! Climate change is cyclical, and that's all science knows for certain. The rest is the hysteria of socialist, environmental wackoes—statist thugs—out to impose their political agenda on the rest of us in the name of science.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among them are the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" . . . unless a politburo of elitists in the name of science declares otherwise.

Politics by scientist. Hmm.

Time to break out all those arms and perhaps start showing a few the business ends of loaded guns—figuratively speaking, you understand . . . or maybe not. :lol: But that's just me, you know, talking all classical liberal and such.

If I have questions about pitching I ask Dave Duncan or another pitching coach. Doesnt mean they are better than you. Just means they study it forty hours a week.

If you have a question about furniture ask me. Not because I am better but because I see the stuff forty plus hours a week.

Now folks in any field can be wrong. I see lawn care companies do some pretty stupid thinfs when they dabble in other areas of horticulture.

Regardless, if you have enough hope that the properties of greenhouse gasses will change or we need them to forstall another ice age go ahead.
 
I'm not 100% sold on either view of global warming, but it sure is fun seeing how Mittens brings out the wingnuttiness in some posters on here.

I would like to point something out. The scientists who wrote the global warming reports were not wrong. But, they were only looking at recent data, and in the timeline of the earth the period that they were looking at is a tiny speck of history. When you look at such a short period like they are, sure it looks bad. But when you compare it to the rest of the historical climate data we have it looks just like it should, normal as can be.

The Experiment put forth by the Warmers replicate life on Venus, that is, they do not ever show a 60-200PPM increase in CO2 raising temperature, rather we gets these low brow 600,000-900,000PPM increases.

I just might try setting up one of these in the back yard and seeing what I get. Will have to settle on two tanks on an east / wet line staggered where they don't shade eachother.

Cops will probably raid it as a meth lab.

IF I can get a hold of enough stuff for $100 or less that I can calculate a 500PPM difference even. Any ideas? I'll let it sit for a year.

I would like to point something out. The scientists who wrote the global warming reports were not wrong. But, they were only looking at recent data, and in the timeline of the earth the period that they were looking at is a tiny speck of history. When you look at such a short period like they are, sure it looks bad. But when you compare it to the rest of the historical climate data we have it looks just like it should, normal as can be.

Honestly it wouldn't faze me if we had a year that was 5 degrees below normal followed by a year of 5 above. C or F lol. Because like you say, it is a short term thing.

Heck, what if today is a degree warmer than it "should" be? Would I notice? Probably not, but on a global scale it might make a difference. A couple of degrees sure makes a difference to the plants around my house!

I'm just CAREFUL with things like my money and the environment.

Calm down? :lol: I'm perfectly calm. I'm not the one spouting the hysteria of "clear and present dangers" and "ice ages". :lol:

There are plenty of scientists who don't buy this nonsense either, and we know that plenty of scientists have been lying about the data. I understand the nature of science by grant, the politics of it, and so do millions of others. We're not impressed. Finally, we also understand the nature of the political agenda behind it all.
