Mitt Romney On Planned Parenthood: We Will 'Get Rid' Of It

Ok. I would expect Romney to say something about not funding abortions or some such statement. But to completely de-fund Planned Parenthood is just a stupid move politically. Just because a woman is against abortion, doesn't mean she is also against prenatal care and cancer screenings.

I don't think this will play well at all.

    Anti-woman?
I thought the preferred mantra was "pro choice".

Actually, the preferred "mantra" is anti-choice. But that's not what this is about. This isn't about abortions. This is about all the other medical services Planned Parenthood provides. To profess to want to de-fund all of those as well, is just not a smart move politically.

Stretching it a bit, aren't we? I'm a woman and I think PP is a dishonest organization and I question their motives.

The far left mantra is always that you are anti this or that if you don't fund it and give it special treatment.

Hasn't Obama supposedly fixed everything with his unconsitutional, oppressive health care reform? Why should we need any other tax payer funded organizations now that we're all being forced to provide coverage for others.

Because, contrary to popular belief, Obamacare does not give free care to everyone.

But back to Planned Parenthood, YOU may question their motives, but Independent voters don't, and Romney needs them if he wants a shot at winning. That's my point here. He's taking a bit of a radical stance on something and that's not how to attract Indies.

Let's see: I want PP unfunded, too. By the OP's logic, I'm anti-myself.

Right, because Planned Abortionhood is the only place a woman can go to get health care.

"Indies" aren't going to give a bucket of piss about social issues this election. Hello 20% real unemployment.

You'd think with the name "DontBeStupid" you're have a friggin clue.

Unless Planned Parenthood is a fully government program, then our broke ass government doesn't need to be funding it. We have county health departments in this area to provide those same services to low income women.
