DEFIANCE, Ohio -- Mitt Romney attacked his Democratic opponent, President Barack Obama, in this rural and manufacturing city Thursday, on education and trade, passing along a report that Chrysler might move all of its Jeep manufacturing to China, which the company has denied.
"I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state, Jeep, now owned by the Italians, is thinking of moving all production to China.
I will fight for every good job in America, I'm going to fight to make sure trade is fair," Mr. Romney said.
His comments, apparently in reference to the Jeep assembly plant in Toledo, came during an energetic and entertainment-filled rally in the Defiance High School football stadium.
The Obama campaign said the story about Jeep was "totally debunked."

Chrysler Co. issued a statement Thursday that "Jeep has no intention of shifting production of its Jeep models out of North America to China. It's simply reviewing the opportunities to return Jeep output to China for the world's largest auto market. U.S. Jeep assembly lines will continue to stay in operation."

"Fiat SpA (F), majority owner of Chrysler Group LLC, plans to return Jeep output to China and may eventually make all of its models in that country, according to the head of both automakers’ operations in the region."

"Chrysler currently builds all Jeep SUV models at plants in Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. Manley referred to adding Jeep production sites rather than shifting output from North America to China."

Feel free to apologize.

Hey nit wit, do you ever have an independent thought?

Once again, you remind us of why you've earned the title, USMB's least intelligent conservative poster.

"Manley referred to adding Jeep production sites rather than shifting output from North America to China."

That's from the real news article, not from the propaganda garbage the Washington Examiner puts out.

So adding production sites in China won't cost jobs here where they are currently being produced?

You just PROVED Romney, and the rest of you, are lying, or too stupid to know how to read. I just posted from the same quote to prove you did.

If they are not shifting output from here to there, as it says, then no. It's localizing production,

like all the Japanese, Korean, and German car companies that have plants here.

Is this statement understood at all.

In another potential blow for the president's Ohio reelection campaign, Jeep, the rugged brand President Obama once said symbolized American freedom, is considering giving up on the United States and shifting production to China.

I bolded it for those who have trouble.

If you listened to the radical desperate left you would think Romney was king of the world. Who would you rather have in the White House, a former junkie community activist who doesn't have a clue or a guy who knows how to make money and fix the economy without spending taxpayer money on stupid projects like Solyndra?

over 33, 000 jeeps were shipped over to China this year through September. That production would go from plants in Ohio, Illinois and Michigan to China.

Good luck convincing Ohio voters that Romney didn't lie when he stated all production would go to China, Since Chrysler never said or implied any such thing, that's going to be tough. Romney lied, he got caught and called out on it by Chrysler, and now he's in hot water. Deflecting-by-nitpicking isn't going to change that.

So he commented on this Bloomberg article:

Fiat Says Jeep Output May Return to China as Demand Rises

Fiat SpA (F), majority owner of Chrysler Group LLC, plans to return Jeep output to China and may eventually make all of its models in that country, according to the head of both automakers’ operations in the region.

And here is the Detroit News that said the article from Bloomberg is accurate:

Romney picks up incorrect story about Jeep production moving to China

The Bloomberg story, though accurate, "has given birth to a number of stories making readers believe that Chrysler plans to shift all Jeep production to China from North America, and therefore idle assembly lines and U.S. work force. It is a leap that would be difficult even for professional circus acrobats," Chrysler spokesman Gualberto Ranieri said.

Yet, somehow Romney is lying?

Right, and that story says the Bloomberg story is accurate, the same story Romney was speaking of.

It's silly season, and Obama is getting his pink slip from pissed off taxpayers who are tired of giving up all their money so Nancy Pelosi can give all her nephews a billion dollar loan 100% taxpayer backed loan so they can go bankrupt and collect all that money. The apparatchiks don't get it yet.

It should be obvious to everyone that Willard will say or do anything at this point, to make himself look moderate or make Obama look bad. The "severely conservative" has become "severely desperate."
