Romney Campaign Declaring Cease Fire on Health Care - 2012 Decoded

His senior adviser, Eric Fehrnstrom, went on MSNBC Monday and ended up agreeing with the Obama campaign's spin that, even though the Supreme Court declared the individual mandate a tax, it really still is a penalty. Significantly, his campaign appears to want to take the most potent argument against the president on the health care subject off the table, likely out of fear the Romney himself is vulnerable when it comes to his health care record. He, after all, supported a mandate as governor of Massachusetts, and doesn't want that to be considered a tax, either.

Ta da!

THIS is why the corporatists wanted Romney as the Republican candidate.

When I was a kid there was a comic book hero called Plastic Man who could stretch his body into any shape.

Romney seems to attempt the same thing with his proposals and beliefs.

Perhaps the man can read polls. It's time to move on and make sure the law is implemented effectively.

They can get their one last symbolic repeal vote out of the way next week and then we can all move on with our lives.

All he has to say is he'll repeal it. Then watch the democrats continue to run from it.

Not if the rest of us have anything to say about. And I realize, in your dream majoritarian world, we wouldn't. But we're not quite there yet.
