Roma Armee
In einer Gegenwart, in der Europa droht in Neofaschismen abzudriften, beansprucht eine Gruppe von Schauspieler*innen eine Roma Armee zu Selbstverteidigungszwecken. Eine schnelle Eingreiftruppe zum Kampf gegen strukturelle Diskriminierung, Rassismus und Antiziganismus, aber auch als Emanzipation aus einer internalisierten Opferrolle. Die Schauspieler*innen sind Romnija, Rom und Romani Traveller aus Österreich, Serbien, Deutschland, dem Kosovo, Rumänien, England und Schweden, sie sind auch israelischdeutsch- türkisch-Berliner Gadjé – sprich die Roma Armee ist übernational, divers, feministisch, queer. Initiiert von den Schwestern Simonida und Sandra Selimović tritt sie als kollektive Selbstermächtigung im Gorki in künstlerische Aktion mit Hausregisseurin Yael Ronen: Im gemeinsamen Rechercheprozess werden persönlich gefasste Erfahrungen, historische Kontaminationen und aktuelle Vorfälle erkundet, woraus ein Theaterstück entwickelt wird. Zusammen mit den bildenden Künstler*innen Delaine und Damian Le Bas aus England entwerfen sie eine Vision für ein Safe European Home in Gypsyland Europa, wie die Le Bas’ es nennen.
In a present where Europe threatens to drift into neo-fascism, a group of actors claim a Roma army for self-defense purposes. A quick reaction force against the struggle against structural discrimination, racism and antiziganism, but also as an emancipation from an internalized victim's role. The actors are Romnija, Rom and Romani travelers from Austria, Serbia, Germany, Kosovo, Romania, England and Sweden, they are also Israeli-Germans-Turkish-Gadjé - the Roma army is over-political, diverse, feminist, queer. Initiated by the sisters Simonida and Sandra Selimović, she performs as a collective self-empowerment in the Gorky in artistic action with house director Yael Ronen: In the joint research process, personal experiences, historical contamination and current incidents are explored, from which a play is developed. Together with the artists Delaine and Damian Le Bas from England, they form a vision for a Safe European Home in Gypsyland Europe, as the Le Bas call it.
