RIP Teena Marie

Never heard of her.
Music not my cup of tea if that video is the type of music she sang to...she did have a good singing voice though.

Well she wasn't exactly disco..

She was more that Romantic/funk/rock thing that Rick James and later Prince did so well..

It's influenced a good amount of R&B today.

I wasn't a big fan..but I liked "Lovergirl" and was shocked she died so young.

Listened to a couple others...she had an outstanding voice.
Too bad her taste in music was terrible, she certainly had the talent to go waaay up the charts with that voice.

The Honorary Sista has passed, I loved her music and the way she appreciated and performed black music. One of the few white artists to gain the love of black people without acting wiggerish. My best Teena Marie songs, Behind the Groove, Portuguese Love, Sucker for your love and best of all Square Biz. The only White Woman I ever had a crush on.

I thought at first we were talking about Tina Louise. :) Oh my goodness.. Nooo, not Ginger!

I wasn't a Teena Marie fan but she has a pretty voice.

Teena Marie is in my top 5 females singers and I've download every one of her albums now, I have her entire collection.
