RIP Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream

Edgar Froese, the founder of Tangerine Dream, passed away yesterday at age 70. Tangerine Dream was one of the founding groups in the Krautrock genre and was one of the early experimenters with synthesizers and sequencers. The group released over a hundred albums and scored many soundtracks and film scores.

I first heard about them in the 70's when I first became interested in electronic music. Here is a piece called "Atlas Eyes".

Never got into TD but I know they've been hugely popular. As a fan of the group Yes, many of my contemporaries are also Tangerine Dram fans.

That's a shame. I fell in love with them after I heard their soundtrack to Thief. A great movie BTW.
