Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh are losing fans in a key market. John Avlon on why listeners and station managers are sick of anti-Obama tirades—and who bucks the trend.

Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity Ratings Drop: Right-Wing Talk Is Dying

if we want to expand, we've got to be doing more than 18 hours a day of ‘Obama is a socialist.’

for the most part political talk, particularly ideological political talk of any stripe, appeals to old people.”

They used to pass out little booklets that people would fill out. More of a popularity contest. Now, with all the electronics, the ratings are "real".

Funny how much the radio listening audience mirrors the general population.

The Republican Party is 90% white. Right wing radio is huge because there is a huge group that walk, looks and talks alike.

Then you look at "so-called" liberal radio. I don't even know what that is. Why? Because it mirrors the Democratic Party. There is Hispanic radio and as you go down the line, the stations narrow audiences are different slices of the Democratic Party. No wonder you need the word "diversity".

A blog. And the title is 'Is Right Wing Radio Dying?' Important part of that title - Question Mark. But... as is the habit of inveterate liars, a question becomes a fact.

Talk radio isn't dying. They just need a freshening up. A facelift.

The big names have been around for at least a decade. In the case of Rush over 20 years.

Thats a looooooong time in radio. The demographic ages, and new and fresher blood needs to be infused. My opinion is that it needs to not be so focused on actual Washington Politics. Instead of 80% Washington and 20% other, it needs to be more of a 60/40 split.
