James Peron: Rick Santorum's Totalitarian Instincts

In New Hampshire, Santorum said, "I don't believe that we can have 50 definitions of marriage... I think there are certain things that are essential elements of society, upon which society rest, that we have to have a consensus."

However, Santorum doesn't seek consensus; he seeks federal, centralized control. His idea of "consensus" is to ban anything that disagrees with his morality. When anything deemed a moral issue is being decided he thinks the federal government should decide for the nation. This is precisely the opposite of what the authors of the Constitution thought.
As far as the Founders were concerned, federal powers were clearly delineated in the Constitution. Nowhere did they suggest that control over the moral climate of the nation was a federal matter. The Founders were not particularly enamored with a federal government with its fingers in the affairs of the home, business, education, health care, or morality. They said central government had a few, precise, enumerated functions and the powers necessary to carry them out -- nothing more.

This guy is a nut.

You know you are winning an argument, when your enemies start arguing your positions.

Yes, Santorum is a right wing religious fanatic. He'd love a theocracy, so long as it's Christian and not Muslim.

This is why I like Ron Paul and NOT Rick Santorum as Ron Paul would give the consitutional power back where it belongs within the states. Our founders invisioned a nation where the people could govern our selfs locally, but with the federal government would defend it, make the money and develop the trade with other nation. We fucked it up good! Ron Paul can give us all what we wish and dream for!

A state that wishes to live under such can live under what Santorum believes, but on the other hand anyone that lives in states like Califorina, vermont or any other very leftist state can get free stuff and live off of welfare.

This is what our founders invisioned for us. That is what our country could look like! The question is why do leftist fight it? The only reason to fight it is to force it on everyone in you damn well know for sure that you're going to get a fight at the federal level. Help us elect Ron paul in you will have the right to do as you wish within your leftist states. :eusa_boohoo:

People that wish for limited government and social conserative idea's and the far left working together towards the consitution. How about it! We both get to WIN!
