Sorry bout that,

Rice is Still No. 1 on Short List of Romney Veep Possibilities

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 65% of Likely U.S. Voters share at least a somewhat favorable view of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, while just 24% view her unfavorably. This includes 29% with a Very Favorable opinion of her and six percent (6%) with a Very Unfavorable one. Twelve percent (12%) are undecided

I think that Condi is the most qualified person to be on the ticket and should be the VP choice. What do the rest of the conservatives think?

1. Not no but, Hell No!
2. The media was pulling for Palin too, and then they went after her like an attack dog once she got the nod.
3. No, Romney is smarter than that I hope.
4. What he needs to do is get another white guy, its the right thing to do.
5. How about Rick Perry?

The left believes if they say something enough, it will be understood as true. If they can keep saying that Rice hates Romney, someone will believe it no matter how much she campaigns for him.

Did Condi campaign for him during the primaries?

Nope.

Look, I don't fault the GOP for playing happy family. You're kind of expected to do that...

Except this was such a bad choice that it's too bad most Republicans won't say diddly about how bad they goofed up until November 7th. Then you'll see all the recriminations.

Did they really "goof up" picking Romney, though? Out of all the primary candidates, who would have been better as far as electability goes?

I think Santorum might have been a better candidate. Liberals would have hated him with a passion, but that would have been the case with anyone. He resonates with working people, he actually GETS what's going on.

The only thing he didn't hae was money.

Sorry, but you lost me.

Santorum?????

In a Santorum vs. Obama fight, I'd have voted for Santorum.

In a Romney vs. Obama fight, I'd have voted for Obama.

Contrary to what people claim, I'm not on the far left, I more in the center. And Rick has it about right on the economic issues... he understood the decline of the middle class is the root of our problems.

Yeah, I know, there's all the crazy religious stuff in the package, but it's not as crazy as Romney's stuff.

I'm with ya there!

Romney is an excellent candidate, and proves that every day. The mroe people hear him, the more they like him. He has built an excellent well run organization.
You just can't stand that truth because you are a bigot and a hater.

With this economy, he should be ahead of Obama by double digits at this point.

Instead he's trailing him by 3-10, depending on which credible poll you read.

And when your foreign tour ends with you being mocked as "RomneyShambles", you are not up to the job.
Um no. He should not be ahead double digits. Ronald Reagan was not ahead double digits in 1980. He is about dead even. And the polls are twisted left anyway.
He did an excellent job on his foreign tour and sewed up a lot of domestic support and demonstrated just how different a President Romney would be.
I am sorry that your bigoted hateful views of Mormons has pushed you to make up stuff. But that's the nature of bigotry.

I want Romney to win, but he won't following the advice of The Rabbi or House or the other idiots.

The more the swing state centrists reject the TPM the harder a Romney win becomes.

Romney is not Reagan, and Obama is not Carter.

The same people asured us that Democrats were turn out in droves to vote for a moderate maverick like McCain.
We see how that turned out.

This election is and needs to be a stark choice between Eurosocialism and American capitalism.

Vote for Eurosocialism, it is wonderful.

Just ask the Greeks.

Democrats are cooking up a Condi Rice pick so they could say that Romney's a racist who wouldn't pick a black woman when it's someone else.
....Yet, it's always you "conservatives" who (first) make that suggestion.

(Your bigotry is showing.)

You are irky this time around. You define stupid, CG.

Not at all 'touchy', I just have a low tolerance for stupid.

And, speaking of stupid, this thread isn't about the Olympics.

I'm a lot of things, Jokey.... stupid ain't one. For instance, I have never wanted to 'throw' people out of a party that they don't belong to.

Picking Rice as the VP would be a gimmick like picking Sarah Palin, except without the spunk and hotness. But, there would be that shit-colored skin, for what it's worth.

I can't believe I just read that. Retardation comes in all sizes, even to people who use computers

Our first lesbian VP nominee.....

Guy, I was around in 1980. Sorry, this is not 1980 or anything near 1980.

And, no, Romney's foreign tour was an absolute disaster. Immediately afterwards, he hired a new PR person.

Yup, CG is thinks clever is smart. She and other extremists want to change the GOP to embrace far right weirdness. She is simply here for grins and chuckles.

Guy I was also around in 1980. Except I was old enough to vote.
And unfortunately for you the facts are on my side:
Behind the Numbers - Reagan's "Comeback"
But a review of the late 1980 polls shows that while Reagan soared over the final week (following the campaign's one and only debate on Oct. 29), the contest up until that point was tightly competitive, not trending toward the incumbent Democratic president. At the time, the Associated Press reported "new polls say the race between the two men remains too close to call."

A post-election summary of polls by then-CBS News pollster Warren Mitofsky shows that at no point over the final two weeks did Carter have a lead bigger than three percentage points. There is a published Gallup poll not included in that report showing Carter up six among likely voters in a poll conducted Oct. 24 to 27. Whether six or the eight points cited today, Carter's advantage in Gallup polling was offset by similarly large Reagan leads in NBC-Associated Press or DMI (Reagan's pollsters) polls.

As for Romney's trip, he solidified his base as a traditional Republican on foreign policy: pro Israel, pro freedom.

Uh, no, they aren't. It was in fact, never really close after Carter lost his post-convention bounce. Reagan was leading him pretty much the whole way. I know, I worked on his campaign. (Reagan's that is. THis was before Crazy People took over the GOP).

Also, in your analysis of 1980, you never, ever mention John Anderson. If Anderson had not been in the mix, it would have been a 50-50 tie. The very fact you leave out that very important part of the story makes me wonder about your honesty...

[As for Romney's trip, he solidified his base as a traditional Republican on foreign policy: pro Israel, pro freedom.

Guy, you're delusional. Obama will still get 80% of the Jewish vote. And Romney still has the whole "I belong to a heretical Cult" in getting the Evangelical "We need Israel so Jay-a-zus can come back and rapture us" vote.

And his beating the war drums has really got the whole world nervous...

I just post proof that I am right and you ignore it and substitute your own absurd made up experience.
Typical.
Go toke a few more.
