Revolution in the US?

[The New Right lacks the leadership necessary to fundamentally change how the U.S. is defined and operates.

Does not want to change how US is fundamentally defined and operated.

I disagree. The New Right has advocated the repeal of section one of the 14th Amendment; the 16th Amendment; and the 17th Amendment to the US Constituting. They have argued the 10th Amendment provides the legal authority to nullify laws passed by the Congress (in effect nullifying clause two of Article VI); the New Right has proposed Constitutional Amendments to require a balanced budget and to outlaw abortion; and in a most egregious group of actions the New Right is currently making an effort in the States to restrict the franchise of our citizens to vote.

The New Right hopes to privatize Social Security, Medicare and Medicade and eliminate entire agencies which provide protection to our people and to our environment. Yes, fundamental change is their goal and the ultimate goal is to remake the United States into an oligarchy under the control of the very wealthy - a Plutocracy.

During the first revolution the American people were not all facing the same direction Not all Americans fought for it's independence they fought for the crown.

True..Liberals wanted to break with England, Conservatives wanted to stay with the crown.
Another fib from the puppy.

Liberals like the pup are so deathly afraid of being identified as what they actually are, they hide behind the appellation of 'classical liberals'....which they certainly are not.

.“The American intellectual class from the mid 19th century onward has disliked liberalism (which originally referred to individualism, private property, and limits on power) precisely because the liberal society has no overarching goal.”
War Is the Health of the State

So, let's review.
1. Classical liberals, are today's conservatives.

2. 'Liberals' are the left-overs (get the pun?) of the progressives and socialists.

 "Classical Liberal" is a conservative term.

No. I could only see revolution if the government started murdering its own citizens.

I suppose we should wait to see if people are not able to access health care, when termally ill, due to backlogs and lack of services (as has been illustrated in past attemps with social health care) before we decide that the government is murdering people?

I have already survived one invasion of cancer into my body. I do actually fear the idea that I will have to rely on the traditionally inept government system to decide care for me if it ever returns.

The American people have revolutions in every election.

If one is stupid enough to be talking about Hard Left or Hard Right shooting revolutions, like the NBPP or the militia nuts acted out their mass stupidity, they do not understand their neighbors will take them, hold summary courts martial, and put them against the wall.

When unions attack do you think the son of a bitches will just lie down ?

Far more likely the militias will get collectively stupid before the unions, but if either side "attacks", they must be put down. And their neighbors will help do that.

Ayers anarchists tried for a revolution in the 60's. The violent overthrow of the government didn't work so they tried to work within the system to bring down the United States. Global warming and the intentional collapse of Fannie Mae under democrat control and the election of an anti-capitalist with a revolutionary agenda camouflaged in green doesn't seem to work either. So lefties are going back to basics and calling for the violent overthrow of the government again.

Horse crap. The weathermen, while spectacular press, were far less dangerous than the far Hard Right try to prevent the success of the civil rights campaign.

…our Constitutional government was replaced by a fascist welfare/warfare state.

Nonsense, our republican form or government is still viable, the ignorance and apathy of the people not withstanding.

And if one wishes to have a ‘revolution,’ revolt against members of Congress who voted for the Patriot Act, the TSA, warrantless surveillance of Americans, and other acts in violation of the 4th Amendment. Revolt against elected officials and jurists who would expand the search and seizure powers of the state, those who would violate our 5th and 6th Amendment right to due process, and our 14th Amendment right to equal access and equal protection of the laws.

The framework of our Republic and the rule of law are still in place, it’s incumbent upon each American to reject any politician who advocates violating these fundamental tenets.

Correct and well said.

These are indeed the very politicians who are an enemy of the Constitution and the rule of law.

Although we are in a philisophical dividing of the ways, if either side uses other than civil means to achieve their goals (violence or outright rebellion), the American society, in general, has no stomach for that. Massive violent rebellion is nowhere in sight at the moment and I would hope that small violent uprisings would be dealt with in a rapid and responsible manner. That includes a violent reprisal from the government authorities or a reprisal of peers acting as diffusers of that violence.

A revolution may be a disastrous bloody struggle in which most people will lose everything. Many complain about their current situation but know war in the streets, scavenging, struggling to live, destruction of life, property & assets will be much worse.

When enough ambitious people have nothing else to lose, they will start a revolution. Most people who have nothing to lose are stupid & lazy. It will only happen when a certain amount of smart, industrious & ambitious people decide to take action.

Violent revolution occurs when a group of people feel that their voices are not being heard and the government is unresponsive to their needs, i.e., the American Revolution, the American Civil War and the recent Eygptian Revolution. I am unhappy with the way things are going and I think that Barry's direction is completely misguided. But my voice IS HEARD., i.e., the mid-term elections in 2010. I joined the Tea Party because I felt that my values were being marginalized and I know that based upon what the Congressional Black Caucus and other Democrats are saying, I am not longer discounted. The Tea Party gives them nightmares, and it makes me very, very happy to do so. If the sole outcome of the Tea Party and the conservative resurgence is to stop them from doing anything, then again, I am very, very happy.

In the United States, political change comes like a change in the direction of the wind. In 1992, the pronouncement was made that the Democratic Party was dead. Clinton stood in the House of Representatives and declared that the "era of big government is over." Well, well, well... we all know how that turned out in 2008. Paul Krugman in the New York Times pronounced the death of conservative thought shortly thereafter. Look for another change in the direction of the wind in 2012 and another genius will pronouce the death of progressive thought (I wish). But it will not be so because given an amount of time, it will change again.

There will always be a small percentage of those in the United States who advocate violent change. Barry's friend Bill Ayers and his "wife" Bernadette are still beating that drum today. Reverand Wright has for many years predicted a violent uprising of the "disenfranchised." But as long as their is an avenue for escape from a bad economic and social situation and as long as the numbers of "disenfranchised" remain relative small, violent revolution will not gain a toe hold.

It is amazing that the founders, in their infinite wisdom, created a set of documents that provided every citizen with an avenue to have his voice heard. If I could tell them in person, I would: Damn good job Tom, George, Ben and the rest of you.

My friend that was a nice well thought out reply but I must say your voice is just a whisper compared to the lobbist in D.C. Is your voice being heard? Has anything really changed since 2010? Did the tea party vote to repeal the patriot act? So far the tea party has one strike against them in my book.

My friend BigReb, is my voice being heard? A million whispers can be a roar that no one can disregard. I submit to you the shrieking of the Congressional Black Caucus over the Tea Party. The recent label of "terrorist" by House Democrats and possibly by the Vice President himself. One lone voice is hard to hear, unless his message catches fire and is parrotted by others. It is as it should be in a constitutional republic. In numbers lie your strength. Find those with whom you agree and raise your voice. If your message has merit, then you will see that there will be many who will pick up the song.

The lobbyist on "K" street in Washington has the ear of many in Congress. But I will tell you this as a fact. Elected officials may give access to lobbyists, but the thing that keeps them up at night is the PUBLIC becoming aware of something that does not put them in a good light. It is the PUBLIC that makes even the "most high" tremble. Case in point: Anthony Weiner and Senator (Ex) Foley.

As for the Patriot Act. I supported it when it was passed and I supported it when it was extended. I support the Patriot Act and will continue to support it. The Tea Party has not condemned it because as a whole, the Tea Party supports it. Obviously, you do not. I understand, but we will agree to disagree on this point.

Indeed it is. In your dreams. .

You continue delusional, Conty. You will never inherit the vicious little world you desire so badly.

It was first the election of Obama that made it clear that those voices must unite, and then the passing of the Health Care Bill that brought those voices together more clearly. Their echo in the halls of congress during the debt/budget debates is evidence of their growing strength. Libs and progressives, shore up your garrisons because our numbers are rising as time passes.
