When has the CIA and sitting POTUS ever really gotten along?

Basically not ever.

Read your history of the relationships between that clandestine cabal and every POTUS starting with Truman, and you see the same story.

Presidents and the CIA never seem to get along.

Why is that?

And that's really part of the problem. The CIA has it's own agenda, which is to gin up threats to keep an eye on them so they get more money. Let's totally forget how many things they were getting wrong.

Let's not forget, right-wingers, that after the CIA insisted up and down that Saddam had WMD's ("It's a slam dunk, Mr. President!") and when Bush acted on that and invaded, the CIA was all, "That was totally not us. Valerie Plame!"

Or that the CIA was still claiming the USSR was a major threat up until the day the Berlin Wall came down and the whole Soviet Empire collapsed within months.
