For the first time since the american invasion, the protesters have broken into the green zone the securized zone and symbol of the american occupation and the puppet government.
They protest against the incapacity and the corruption of the politicians.

Many protesters injured by police forces.

USA and Iran warmongers want to quell the demonstrations.

So much for fighting wars in the Middle East. Did all of our soldiers who died there give their lives in vain? Is it really worth sacrificing more? To what end? These people do not want our interference. They want to kill each other without interruption from us. Perhaps we should let them?

Your poor soldiers died for Bush and Cheney Oil business not for iraqi freedom.

Now the puppet government is working for both USA and Iran.

USA and Iran want ISIS in Iraq to legitimate this sectarian weak government and so called "war on terrorism" in Iraq.

You are really late to the game. No oil was taken by or for the US. You need to check your talking points.

An opinion piece? So that is where you get info? You do realize that in the first postwar contract when the fields were opened back up, awarded in 2008, state run China Nat'l Petro Corp (CNPC)got it. In the second round, awarded in 2009 Russia and China got the oil contracts. Not the US. If we had gone in for oil we could have simply taken over the oil fields. We didn't.

Actually we didn't have to take over the oil fields in a war for oil. What did happen is the oil money goes to the government of Iraq and we get to sell them Abrams tanks and fighter jets etc.

But UK and U.S. OIL companies were looking forward to bidding on those contracts that China got. The trouble is the dumbasses (Bush Blair) that decided to invade had convinced themselves that their nations of mostly Christian orientation could bomb, invade, kill Muslims that were not hiding WMD, and occupy Iraq and then would be greeted as liberators.

Well that didn't work out that way and Iraq got to be way too violent for USA and the UK oil companies to do business there. Chinese oil companies are quite a bit less skittish about working in a war zone with the corrupt government that the invading countries set up.

Just because it didn't work out with the 'greeted as liberators' malarkey it does not mean the intent to get oil contracts in Iraq favorable to the invading government' oil companies.
