On a hill
Was a good movie, kept you interested, well acted and "edge of your chair" drama.
The problem was once AGAIN Hollywood cannot help themselves but obey one of the absolute Hollywood rules:
Leading female in the movie must appear superior to the leading male.

The movie is based on an actual event, the greatest balloon ride in history. A miraculous achievement for...wait for it... two MEN. But what does hollywood do - they make one of them a woman. But that is not far enough. Noooo.... you must make her the hero of the story, and be better than the man she was with in absolutely every-single-way. Morally, intellectually, and even physically. And not by just a little bit, the movie makes it out that the entire thing would have been a colossal failure if not for the brilliance, bravery and spectacular endurance and physicality of Amelia.
So they took an actual event, the heroic story of James Glaisher, a man who broke the highest elevation record of any other human in the history of man - and more importantly the pioneer of modern meteorology. And made it into a fairy tale story of a heroic woman... that never happened.

I think it is on Amazon

Good movie and the chick was hot
Made for a better flick than with two guys

And BTW if I was a family member of James Glaisher or the ACTUAL person he was with - Henry Coxwell, I would be furious.
They omitted Henry Coxwell and his contribution entirely, and the movie made James Glasiher out to be this weak, wimpy shadow of a man who, outside of his nerdy interest in weather, to be a bumbling child who would have a hard time wiping his own ass.

History revisionist must love the movie.

Edit: - Case in point by the above post

the woman was based on Sophie Blanchard,......
Exactly, in typical history revisionist style, to sell a lie - you embed parts that are true.
The film makers just can't stomach a heroic story wherein the principles are two white-European men. They had to completely redo the story so it includes, not just a woman, but makes her the main hero... and of course...she had to overcome sexism and male exclusion in order to do it.
Even though.... it never happened.

The vast-vast majority of people will never look into what actually happened, and will take it for granted that what they saw - IS what happened.
And that is what revisionist want.
