Just got down off the roof.

I's a bit hazy today, so it was difficult to see, but I brought my binoculars.

You don't really get a feel for how fast the shuttle is going from watching a launch on TV.

It was ascending so fast, and it was not at even half of it's final speed.


There was a pretty cool live feed on nasa.gov of the external fuel tank detachment as well. The camera was positioned towards the prow of the tank, in between the tank and the shuttle.

You could see the throttle down, the detachment, and the maneuver thrust that seperated the two.

As close as I was...next launch I'm going to the cape.

I watched it on the boob tube--awesome as ever---would love to see it from your vantage point ---The cam on the external tank was a provided a great view !!

I watched at home before coming into work. The new cameras are pretty cool.

After seeing damage done to the shuttle, how can they possibly even CONSIDER not at least making an attempt to fix it. I don't care HOW small that dent is. They tried ignoring it once. Doing it AGAIN would be cause in my mind to shut down the whole damn program.

I watched this with my kids. They were fascinated...for about 10 minutes!
