Okay fellow USMB Members the official results are in and here are my findings:
With only 37 votes out of the hundreds of USMB members, I can hardly claim to have an accurate cross-section of USMB members, and that goes even more so for the entire US.
The purpose of these polls was to determine whether the majority who are against State-Sanctioned Same Sex Marriages on USMB are opposed to it because of religious beliefs or tradition.
Here are the results of the polls:
Out of a total of 37 voters:
5 (13.51%) are against same-sex marriages and are religious.
7 (18.92%) are against same-sex marriages and are NOT religious.
So it seems as though most USMB members who oppose same-sex marriages do so because it isn't traditional and not for religious reasons.
Interestingly enough, most who voted support same-sex marriages.
9 (24.32%) support same-sex marriages and are religious.
And an overwhelming 16 USMB members (43.24%) support same-sex marriages and are not religious. You'd almost think that USMB was more liberal than California.
That's a total of 67.56% of those who voted support same-sex marriage.
Here is the breakdown in the categories. Now it seems that those who answered the thread directly didn't necessarily vote, nor vice versa so these numbers don't match with the poll.

1 Pagan - For
1 No Defined Religion but Religious USMB member - For
Christians:
1 Anglican - For
1 Not Defined Sect - For
Jewish:
1 Complex Definition of type of Judaism - For

So this poll really serves no viable purpose beyond that is was fun, kinda interesting, and that's about it. Enjoy the results!
