Researcher says tea party voters fear change

It's amusing that the study is attacked as is the researcher but the finding aren't.

They can't be, because they are true.

Why are teapees afraid to admit to their beliefs?

Hmmm...........
Tea Party doesn't like change?
What do you call it then, when they want to change the way Washington is being run?

That has little to do with change and everything to do with just not liking the guy who is in the Oval Office.

Wanting to return to the policies that got us here in the first place is hardly change.

Are conservatives resistant to change? Do ursine mammals evacuate in sylvan environments?

No, It has everything to do with wanting to change Washington and how it's being run.
The attitude in Washington is they are the boss when they aren't.
It's the American people who are the bosses.
We hire them, we pay their salaries and we fire them.
And no, it's not returning to the same policies. It's about changing both parties and the way things are run.

Why would we attack the study itself when it was already rendered dead on arrival. ignoring diversity intentionally.

Why do you accept a study - which I have proven to be bullshit - as legitimate?

Why are you so upset about this study?

Maybe you'll like this one better...it relates.

Study: Conservatives have larger ‘fear center’ in brain

"Nearly 4,500" "10 interviews"..... who - besides a braindead moron - would take that as a legitimate 'study'? I have attacked the 'study'... as anyone with an IQ over room temperature would. And, any researcher who would make a claim of legitimate findings based on this "nearly 4,500 participants, 10 interveiws" is not a researcher, he's a fucking hack.

That's not an opinion, it's an honest assessment - based on my understanding of research methodology... which, I have to say, on the face of it is a damned sight better than yours.

I'm not 'upset', I'm laughing at morons who call it a 'study'. It was "nearly 4,500" calls and "10 interviews". An idiot might call that a 'study', but an academic would call it crap.

And as for the other 'study', it's already been debunked. I'm not repeating shit for the stupid kids at the back of the class.

What's wrong with being fearful of watching people trying to turn your country into some failed, European style Nanny-State?

One more time:

"Nearly 4,500" participants.

"10 interviews"

There is nothing legitimate about the findings with those numbers.

No academic researcher would make such a claim about their results. Results of academic social science research 'suggests' an outcome. It does not 'confirm' an outcome as a fact.

That is not an academic 'study'.

Of course it isn't... but hey, just wait, as 2012 grows nearer, this stuff will become rampant.

The study, called "Cultures of the Tea Party," also claims voters who felt favorably toward the tea party movement valued deference to authority and libertarianism
But tea party supporters were twice as likely as others to favor constitutional amendments, including a ban on flag burning and an overhaul of the 14th Amendment, which states that people born in the United States are citizens.

"The (tea party) supporters' inconsistent views of the Constitution suggests that their nostalgic embrace of the document is animated more by a network of cultural associations than a thorough commitment to the original text," the report states.

Researcher says tea party voters fear change - Houston Chronicle
Obama is giving us change and you wonder why we fear it? Maybe it's just the SOCIALISM we fear.

Is it a joke? They aren't "researchers". They are angry community activists and social workers. They probably took time out from their busy blackjack schedule in Vegas to issue a statement in support of Maxine Waters.

I especially get a kick out of the idiocy about teapees being for the constitution, but, but, but....

They call it taking their country back.

from whom to how far back is the question

right you have tea party members around you. Like when someone says my best friend is black and starts talking racist shit.
Are you claiming the teapee supporters posting here don't really support the teapees?

:cuckoo:
What does the term 'teapee' mean?

Glad to see you here JM could you tell these tea party people how you said the separation of church and state IS in the constitution.

They keep getting that part wrong.
