Repubs vote down Plan B: Who says they are obstructionists?

Anyone paying attention to the goat rodeo formerly known as the House of Representatives knew, before noon on Thursday, that Republicans were screwed.
Why John Boehner failed on the fiscal cliff: House Republicans fear outside interest groups more than the speaker. - Slate Magazine

So, over the cliff (curb) we go. Taxes go up on everyone. Then, end of January, the senate will propose their own bill to give the tax reduction from Bush back to those making under $250K in taxable income. So, what do the repubs do then??
House Republicans will find themselves between a rock and hard place. Americans are far more concerned about their jobs than they are the deficit. If we go over the cliff and Congress does not take action in January, we will move into a recession or at least a slow down in the first or second quarter. House Republicans will have no choice but to go along with Democrats to provide more spending and tax cuts which will drive the deficit much higher.

What part of the fact that when you don't have any money, that you are broke, and the time for a change in lifestyle is upon you. The monopoly game is over and you lost. All the kings men can't put humpty dumpty together again.

Since the 80's the upper 1% got 93% of the income gains in this economy. Someone has lots of money.

and the percent of all federal income taxes they paid went from 20% to 40%

Someone has lots of money.

and someone (a libturd) wants to steal it?? In a free country if you don't want someone to have your money you don't buy his products, you don't buy the products and then steal the money back.

"reductions in top tax rates under Presidents Kennedy and Reagan, and reductions in capital gains tax rates under Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush, not only "paid for themselves" but also provided enough extra revenue to finance negative income taxes for the bottom 40% and record-low income taxes at middle incomes."

Mr. Reynolds is a senior fellow with the Cato Institute and the author of "Income and Wealth" (Greenwood Press 2006).

Also, the bottom 50% earned $288 billion in AGI in 1980 and $1055 billion in 2009 so they too are doing very well. This is not to mention how in a liberal country the bottom 50% got tons of new welfare program money.

Here’s what Haskins reported: From 1980 to 2011, annual spending on these programs grew from $126 billion to $626 billion (all figures in inflation-adjusted “2011 dollars”); dividing this by the number of people below the government poverty line, spending went from $4,300 per poor person in 1980 to $13,000 in 2011. In 1962, spending per person in poverty was $516.

Voting down a plan you disagree with is not obstructionist.

Voting down every plan, even when you helped shape the plan, because you hate the president, is obstructionist.

Do we understand the difference?

And voting against everything that the american public wants is obstructionist. And meeting and putting together a coalition to vote against everything a president is in favor of is obstructionist.

conservatism naturally obstructs liberalism the way up naturally obstructs down. Liberals could have a real majority if only they had a philosophy that was not stupid and anti-American.

Can a liberal say what's smart or American in liberalism??

What a surprise. Ed quoting something and it is CATO, the modern day John Birch society. Cato, founded and run by the KOCH brothers. And the koch father was a founding member and a main officer of John Birch. All in love with libertarianism. That economic system that has never actually existed, just attempted, then turns into a cesspool. That is Ed's self proclaimed belief system. So, it helps to explain why ed seems to be a congenital idiot. Which he probably is. So, it is really not his fault. Just plain bad luck.

Not that it matters. Ed posts all the time. Drivel and dogma, nothing of substance. So, no one except a few other con tools pay any attention to him.

of course the data is from the IRS and used by CATO while yours in not sourced!! Joke???. Of course if you could dispute it you would happily do so for the whole world to see.

Does your fear tell us you are a typical low IQ liberal??

Those dumb liberals. Believing in stupid things like science and "supply and demand" and human rights and investment and education and health care. Too bad they are "smart" like Republicans.

LET HIM DIE! I APOLOGIZE BP! EDUCATION IS FOR SNOBS! THE EARTH IS ONLY 6,000 YEARS OLD! REPUBLICANS AM SMART!

Does not matter, dipshit. I do not appreciate dipshits like you providing data from bat shit crazy con tool web sites and saying that it is just valid data. Because, dipshit, like from any prejudiced site, I nave to vet the article. And almost always, Ed, I find you are lying. And as for what I said, all true. You are a congenital idiot. And you do love the Koch brothers. And you are a libertarian. And yes, ed, CATO was founded by and run for years by the Koch brothers. So, maybe I will get you a quote or two from moveon. But na, I have enough integrity not to do that. Look it up, dipshit. I N T E G G R T Y.

right!!!! like liberals believe in the science of evolution by paying the least among us per illigitmate birth or by denying that men and women are different or by denying that the second China switched to capitalism it got rich, or pretending we can affect climate change when China and India are putting 30 million new cars a year on the road and 2 new coal plants a week!!

and "supply and demand"

Dear, supply and demand, is what capitalists believe ought to regulate our markets while liberals don't like the results of supply and demand and so try to socalize the markets to get different results, typically by creating excess artifical demand. This is how they caused the Great Depression and kept it going for 10 years and how they caused the current depression.

We need to get this post out to the economists of the world. They need some humor. But we should explain that ed is a congenital idiot. It really is not his fault.

typical violent liberal personal attack from liberal without IQ for substance

So, repubs in the house voted against the tax bill. Obviously, since they would not vote for a $1M minimum before taxing the wealthy, they would not like $400K. They actually believe they are right in step with the american public. Keep it up, repubs. There is another election in a couple years.

Too stupid!! Ever read JFK's profiles in courage?? You do what's right not what the public, most of whom make far less than 400K, want after being trained in Marxist/Obama class warfare. Even Keynes would not tax the most productive while we are on the brink of a recession? Do you think the Girl Scouts will pick up the slack and innovate our way out of Barry's depression??

See why we are positive a liberal will be slow??
