Repubs - Sliding toward obscurity

As the Repubs continue to flail at President Obama they continue to shed party members.

Polls have shown that voters who identify as Repubs is at it's lowest mark in twenty five years.

The Repub party is becoming a regional (southern) party made up almost exclusivly of older white males. Yes, of course there are others including women and people of color, but they are the exception to the rule.

They may soon be known as the "Radical Right Wing Radio Republicans" as they have by default, made Rush Limbaugh their party leader.

Limbaugh, Hannity, et al have no answers to America's problems as it was their policies that led to our current state of affairs.

Republicans will continue to move toward obscurity untill they drop the vitriol, stop hurling invectives and dump their ridiculous policies which favor the rich and well connected.

This is unfortunately true. I am a southern male, the issues that I hold the most important are generally considered republican ideals but alas, can't bring myself to be associated with a bunch of dumb ass, racist hicks. And that is what you have in the republican party, the party of the red south.

Another party will emerge, sooner or later, to pick up the semi intelligent pieces that will no longer join these fools.

It all cycles and will continue to do so. Both parties have announced eachother's impending doom forever. Did the Reps make a mess of things? You bet. Can they overcome the Left (as distinguished from just Democrat)-media-academic triad any time soon? Doubt it. Will The Prophet and the Left hand it back to them? Debt can be good or bad, if one borrows to invest in ones future that is in general a good thing. But if one borrows so that rich folk can get tax cuts which is what happened under W then that would be a bad thing.

Unfortunately, what you mean by this is Republicans must start thinking like Democrats.

If they do that, why bother even having Republicans?

If they do not represent something distinctly different than Democrats, then they serve no purpose and should not exist. It's happened before in this country. There was one party rule at least 3 distinct periods of time I can think of off the top.

Repubs don't have to think like Dems they have to think differently than they have for the last 30 years. Reaganism/Bushism has failed, miserably!
