    Republicans vs. White House Corruption

If Republicans take back Congress after the November elections, investigations into possible corruption by the Obama White House is likely soon to follow.

Democrat President Barack Obama, while maintaining the outward appearance of a man enjoying the final month of summer while vacationing in the ultra-rich playground of Martha’s Vineyard, is likely a far more concerned and uncertain individual internally. Republican party leaders are already indicating a desire to launch investigations against the Obama White House following the November midterm elections, with an accompanying laundry list of potential political misdeeds centered around the Obama administration.

HERSHEY, Pa.— Rep. Darrell Issa, the conservative firebrand whose specialty is lobbing corruption allegations at the Obama White House, is making plans to hire dozens of subpoena-wielding investigators if Republicans win the House this fall.

The California Republican’s daily denunciations draw cheers from partisans and bookings from cable TV producers. He even bought his own earphone for live shots. But his bombastic style and attention-seeking investigations draw eye rolls from other quarters. Now, he’s making clear he won’t be so easy to shrug off if he becomes chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in 2011.

Issa has told Republican leadership that if he becomes chairman, he wants to roughly double his staff from 40 to between 70 and 80. And he is not subtle about what that means for President Barack Obama.

A hostile congress investigating every little thing will increase Obama's approval, just like it did for Clinton.

The old, "let's start throwing shit against the wall and see what sticks" approach. How much in tax dollars was blown by fiscally responsible "conservatives" to get Clinton over a cum stain? I won't vote for a single "conservative" that signs on to play thesee kinds of games. I'm looking for candidates who pledge to go to Congress and put forth better ideas and reduce the government and taxes. If all they want to do is air dirty laundry, they need to get a radio talk show.

Politico is reporting that's all the GOP plans to do. Which is why they aren't offering up any plans besides tax cuts to help this country.

You might be quite right there - though it appears some smoke it to be seen, and therein we might find fire...
    ____

Even more potentially damaging to the Obama White House are Republicans desire to investigate possible corruption surrounding the hundreds of billions of tax payer dollars that represent the AIG bailout, Freddie and Fannie bailout, the Obama stimulus bill, and the government bailout/takeover of GM and Chrysler. Critics claim the Obama White House overstepped its constitutional authority, and that monies were sent out more as a means of political favortism rather than actual economic need. Labor unions have enjoyed particular benefit from the Obama White House bailouts.

    possible corruption?

another Whitewater waste of tax payer's money.

only a wingnut would wish to waste hundreds of millions of dollars of witch hunts.

Every politician is corrupt. That's the beauty of it - you can investigate anyone, and find something. But this will backfire on the Republicans, if they do it.

Just like Clinton - who had his highest approval ratings while being impeached for getting a blow job.

The Clinton example is not quite applicable - but your sentiment could be correct.

Still, the Chicago Way may not be viewed so kindly by most Americans...
