Republicans Surging Back

As far as I'm concerned The Republican Party is impotent, and useless as long as the likes of Arland Spector, and Lindsey Graham are in office. You are a disgrace to us all. While I'm at it Newt, stop subverting Conservative Principal, grow a spine, and get a life. Dear Rudy, NY needs a Governor, shame on you.

OK...
Lets examine what the republicans have done for us:
1. Ran up a 5 Trillion dollar deficit- This deficit paid for two wars and major tax cuts for the wealthy
2. Started two wars
3. Destroyed the economy- Crashed the housing and stock market, devalued the dollar, sent unemployment into a nosedive, initiated a recession
4. Blocked healthcare
5. Destroyed the environment
6. Destroyed the US reputation and trust around the globe

The republicans created a mess with everything they touched and laugh that Obama has been unable to fix the mess they created. Meanwhile, economy looks like it is reversing. Healthcare will be passed and the republicans are still on the outside looking in

After that town hall meeting where Specter made a complete ass out of himself...I can see him switching back to Republican in a feeble attempt to retain his seat.

You mean Spector actually got to say anything over the DIN of the sea of assholes shouting like Neanderthals and Neanderthalettes?

Of course, given the Republican's track record, they could easily screw up and lose this momentum by the elections...

Here is what I don't get....McDonnell is offering nothing new. I attended one of his campaign stops and he offered NOTHING. He and his fellow local GOPers spent the evening doing nothing except bash Obama. THIS is why I made the assumption that he had no chance. Why would anyone vote for a candidate that brings nothing to the table and bases his entire campaign on bashing the President of the United States, who, by the way, he is NOT running against?

You're kidding, right? Obama bashing is very much in vogue.

what racist remarks are those? I don't see any racist remarks in this post.

this:
the answer is nothing - except the color of his skin of course...

You indicated you had never voted for a Democrat before Obama - you indicated that vote was predicated on frustration with the Republican's spending habits. You have since qualified that by stating it was the military spending in Iraq in particular you did not like.

Obama is spending far more than the Bush administration - including a 20 billion dollar increase in military spending.

So once again, I ask what was it about Obama that necessitated you voting for him? Why would someone who stated they had never voted for a Democrat - vote for this particular candidate?

At present, if you don't provide an answer that appears both honest and accurate, one must conclude it was the color of Obama's skin that was the most attractive attribute for you - particularly given your admission of disliking increased government spending, which have increased greatly under Obama, military spending included.

Quote of the Day

"No chance."
-- McSame, when asked if he wanted Obama
to kick his crooked sellout ass again in 2012

Hussein Obama waterloo is coming...American are not socialist we are capitalist...our conversative day is near

Wishing and hoping and
thinking and praying,
planning and dreaming
each night of your rule
that won't get the job done,
so if you're looking to get reelected
you gotta try to get something done....

Twenty years of the republican rule and the accomplishments were economic collapse, an illegal invasion that killed thousands and wasted billions, a collapsing infrastructure, and a failure to help our own citizens in Katrina. Oh, sorry forgot the real accomplishments: increases in poverty, debt, unemployment, but the wealthy got tax breaks. Good work.

If the citizens have forgotten all ready, Zeus help us.

I agree - we need to return to the time of Reagan!

And regardless of what you are attempting to say - which is rather muddled, polling indicates a Republican resurgence, which is the premise of this thread.

I just love the change in republican rhetoric. Up until the Obama election, their chosen phrase of derision was to label all democrats as "liberals"
Now that the voting public has shown they are willing to vote for avowed liberals, the republicans have changed their prefered label to "socialist"

To a republican...
Spending money to invade a country that is not a threat is............Patriotism
Spending money to help americans is.......................Socialism

An answer that appears both honest and accurate to whom? You? It is obvious that you already believe that the only reason I voted for Obama was because of the color of his skin. Who are you to judge me and assume that I am racist to the point of voting for someone solely based on their skin tone? I supported Fred Thompson due to his stance on fixing our illegal immigration problem before he dropped out. When I added it all up, the GOP put McCain on the ticket. Old man with NO new plans for ANYTHING. He was just fine with invading Iraq and keeping our troops there as long as he deemed necessary, at the cost of $12 BILLION a month. Then, he pulled Sarah freakin' Palin out of his ass and put her on the ticket as his VP candidate. This woman is dumber than a box of rocks and proved it in every interview the McCain campaign ALLOWED her to give. Not only that, but she lied to the American people about her stance on the funding for the "Bridge to Nowhere" in the very first stump speech she gave. Is this REALLY the best that the GOP had to offer? Obama offered a change in our direction. A change in foreign policy where we didn't tell other nations to do what we want or we will bomb the shit out of you, which was the policy that Dubya and Dick had put in place. Rather than spending so much money on a war that Dubya lied to get us into, Obama promised to spend money on Americans. If I have to pay taxes, which I know I do, I wanted to pay them to help people in MY country along with all of the others the US currently supports and/or props up. Fair enough?

So how is that "change" working out for you? What has changed - not in rhetoric, but sustance via Obama?

More spending?

More military spending?

Higher unemployment?

More spending? Knew this going in. Spending on US citizens that I already addressed in previous post. Is comprehension an issue for you?

More military spending? Small increase over last year. Pentagon has already stated they did not want the additional fudning that Congress was forcing down their throats for the Presidential helicopter, F-35 engine alternate and F-22 program increase.

Higher unemployment? What did you expect? Instant turnaround? You actually SOUND much smarter than this. Or is patience and issue for you as well?

As of now, in the race for governor in both New Jersey and Virginia, the Republican candidates are dominating.

Do you believe ALL of the lies you tell? Creigh Deeds (D) is leading Bob McDonell (R) in VA.

To be fair, they aren't really his lies, he simply posts the Con talking points on a daily basis.
except it turns out they werent lies at all, moron

Let us assume that there is a seachange in power from the Ds to the Rs in the 2010 election.

What exactly do we expect to see the Rs do about health care, and the economy?

I think we all know what they won't do (whatever you guys have been complaining about) so you don't need to tell us that.

What they will do, however, IS the question.

Nothing about the economy and health care?

Is "Let it bleed" the solution you folks think the Rs will take?

Is that the solution?

That's the solution that Rs have taken since Clinton tried it in the 90s. The problem with the stimulus from February 09 was that it wasn't enough to be truly effective and now they had to ask for more money to continue.

Healthcare is a part of making the economy stronger, the administration needs to communicate that better, above the Repbulcian noise and obstruction.

We need a strong economy, healthcare and jobs will help make that happen. It is going to take money to improve any of the three. The let it bleed solution hasn't worked and will not work.
wow, you talk about OTHERS telling lies
