Republicans Stunned To Learn Voters Understand Exactly What Their Tax Cuts Did

A survey commissioned by the Republican National Committee has led the party to a glum conclusion regarding President Donald Trump’s signature legislative achievement: Voters overwhelmingly believe his tax overhaul helps the wealthy instead of average Americans.

By a 2-to-1 margin — 61 percent to 30 percent — respondents said the law benefits “large corporations and rich Americans” over “middle class families,” according to the survey, which was completed on Sept. 2 by the GOP firm Public Opinion Strategies and obtained by Bloomberg News.

The result was fueled by self-identified independent voters who said by a 36-point margin that large corporations and rich Americans benefit more from the tax law — a result that was even more lopsided among Democrats. Republican voters said by a 38-point margin that the middle class benefits more.

Is that why the economy is doing so well?

The economy was doing well BEFORE the tax cuts.
Ya, PhD’s working at Home Depot is a great economy!

What you have to realize is that most Conservatives don’t care that it benefitted the rich more than the middle class and actually damaged the lower class scum. That’s what we wanted it to do.

You’re right, we don’t get butthurt because something might benefit the rich. Why do you people hate the rich so much? If they get a tax break, good for them, they get to keep more of their own money they earn. Is that concept really so horrible for you loons?

Not sure how that “damages” the lower classes. If the rich have more of their own money they get to invest it or spend it, which creates jobs.

Seems you didn't read the last sentence. "That's what we wanted it to do", he's SUPPORTING Trump's tax cut and he's supporting it because it fucks the poor over.

He's being honest.

oh? i dont know any conservative people who want to see the poor get poorer....they would like to see poverty eradicated....

Then what you probably know are Republicans, or possibly Moderates claiming to be Conservatives. Real Conservatives want to see the poor face the consequences of their poor life choices.

From the Washington Compost...of course they are going to slant the story, against President Trump who right now has the lowest minority unemployment rate, unemployment rate and a very high GDP, that required a magic wand to achieve. You fuckers just wont quit, will you?

Trump hits Obama for 2016 'magic wand' comment about economy

Yes, the cuts enabled them to keep more of their own earned money. A huge wrong!
I didn't know the dumb could speak.

Republicans think billionaires did it by themselves. It never occurs to them the people who helped them should get some credit.

It’s up to every American who is not better off today than they were 2 years ago to show up and vote.

I have actually benefitted from trump. Or I haven’t been hurt by it yet and I’m voting against him. But there are so many Americans who’ve been conned into not showing up because they think it doesn’t matter

Is that why the economy is doing so well?
The economy Bush handed Obama was a mess. The economy Obama handed Trump was great. But with unneeded to tax cuts for billionaires and corporations, the economy is on a sugar high. Currently there are more jobs than people who need jobs.

Clearly, without educated workers, the economy can't keep growing. And what happens when the sugar high wears off?

I remember when Obama took down Bin Laden Republicans tried so hard to convince America they did it. Well, they may be doing a better job this time, but people who brought us the recession and the Iraq war and the mess in Puerto Rico and the debacle at our southern border can't keep it up forever.

Large corporations and rich people get most of the benefits. The middle class do get a tax cut but it will not make a huge difference in their lives. There are several tax breaks that were either retained or added that benefit wealthy taxpayers. Even the tax breaks for corporations help the rich as most of the money was used for things such as stock buybacks.

You go ahead and run on that. Think 61% of the people want to give up their tax breaks so corporations can't have theirs? Let's see how that works out.

Because our deficits are exploding. The carried interest deduction should be repealed as well as the passthrough rates and the special tax break for real estate tax trusts. Tax cuts were not necessarily needed for economic growth as the economy was getting better under Obama and Trump even though neither have had anything to do with it.
