Fact: Obama is a smart dude but like Roosevelt, or Lincoln there are opponents to innovation. He is trying to HELP PEOPLE. Republicans are fiestily politicizing right now, resorting to rumor-spreading to scare the public - and it seems to be working.

Rumors claiming it will be socialism, freedom of choice. The thing that changes is the rich have to wait as long as anyone on the street for the same doctors. Currently the rich do not care, since its easy to afford the extra rising cost, and its since it actually means the rich are more likely get the best doctors with the shortest wait time. Its selfish.

Fact: All the U.S.'s closest allies, all 1st world, fully capatalist economies, U.K., Canada, Germany, Japan, France you name it, already HAVE universal health care. No one seems to mention this. Again, America IS the only industrialized nation in the world that still does not provide universal health care. Look it up. Countries with high rich-poor gaps economies have universal health care, or a much lower cost system (like 10 bucks a visit) for the same quality of doctors (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea..).

How to pay for it, its a tough question. If the Democrats can tally that out the aggregate benefit wrt fairness is tremendous, but then everyone else has it.
Will this *cause* U.S. economic downturn or decline? NO.

Our Health Care system is broken. Our costs are high and rising (our life spans are actually slightly decreasing). America pays too high a proportion of their income to health care.

(btw my family used to vote Republican only)

Only to note that there were 'points.' Been a lot of these posters on all sites I visit. I'm unsure if they're paid or just true believers.

Oh goody another ignorant newbie that thnks he knows something. At least this one's on the left so he'll only make the leftists here look sillier if that's even possible.

Let me explain something to you, dude or dudette as the case may be, the support for this entire bill is based on fear mongering. About half the costs of everything to do with health care come from regulations and lawyers. Major hosptals and in fact every major corporation in the country has a whole freaking department dedicated to doing nothing more than making sure they are in compliance with the thousands of rules and regualtions regarding their industry foisted upon them by the various federal government agencies, an often similar number of state agencies and not a few city and/or county governments as well. There isn't one damn thing Obama's going to do to change that.

And again this isn't even going to be Obama's bill by the time all is said and done. It will be Queen Nan's and the Dingy one's bill and Obama won't even state for the record that he'll read the damn thing before he signs it. Granted as large and convoluted as it is likely to be it would probably take a speed reader to get through it all in the thirty days he's got to sign it, to say nothing of figuring out what the hell each section means and how it will impact health care.

Suffice it to say the snap shots of this work in progress that we, the people, are getting don't look good.
The 40% cut in Medicare reimbursement alone guarantees that there will be fewer doctors and health care workers to address the medical needs of our increasingly elderly population.

Still waiting for someone to explain why any individual is OWED the ENTITLEMENT of healthcare at the expense of someone else's earnings, when we live in a society based on individual freedoms

I tried not to laugh at yet another cut and paste email, regurgitated talking points job. We've seen so many here lately one would think the comic value would wear off, that we would be desensitized to it by now.

Not yet!

:lol::lol::lol: :rofl: :lol::lol::lol: :rofl: :lol::lol::lol: :rofl: :lol::lol::lol: :rofl: :lol::lol::lol:

Look at the user name, it appears randomly chosen. Probably one of the minions who responded to Obama's call to "spread the truth about health care reform". Not very subtle.

I don't think it was the repubs who scared people as much as the people who actually read the bill scared everyone.

The government's resume.
Social Secuity- bankrupt.
Postal Service-bankrupt.
Medicare-----Bankrupt.
Medicaid---- Bankrupt.

Now would you hire these people to run 7% of the U.S economy, because if you would, I have some very prime, right on the beach property for you in Forida.
