They failed to understand that if you stuff a ballot box after the election with Republican-marked ballots, you have to remove the same number of Democratic-marked ballots, otherwise the total ballot count doesn't match.

Understand election procedures. After the election, each district's ballots are placed in a box, the number of ballots inside is recorded, the box is sealed, and the box is placed in storage.

Mystery ballots in state Senate race bring call for investigation - The Portland Press Herald Maine Sunday Telegram

Very close election in Maine for state senator. Recount. A sealed box that was marked as containing 171 ballots was found unsealed and containing 192 ballots. All of the extra 21 ballots were Republican-marked, enough to swing the recount to the Republican.

The Maine state Republicans, obviously caring deeply about vote fraud, don't see anything irregular about it. I'm guessing that feeling will be shared by most of the Republicans on this board.
