Republicans, give President Obama a fair shake.

Oh I know it's not going to happen in a day. We still have 2 months. But I'm already more optimistic. So is the rest of the world.

It's just good to have Bush leaving. No?

Yes the Kenyans are celebrating that their native born son is now President-elect of the US, and they expect to benefit greatly.

Is good for the election to be over. Unfortunately we'll have to wait another 4 years for real change...

kept low until the election was over. Soon it will be ten dollars a gallon
my side hasn't fought going green, whatever the hell going green means. we gonna fart soybeans?

oil companies have plenty of land with either no oil on them or lawsuits left and right blocking them from drilling. Like I said you ain't never gonna get no oil.

so now that you are in power I'm supposed to "shut up" that's kinda totalatarian doncha think. I expected to be shut up but not quite this early. the goon isn't even in office yet.

:eusa_hand:

Two years please.:eusa_shhh:

I always respect your civility. But I'd remind you that if you'd like to talk about incivility, I'd have to direct you to Karl Rove and his push-polling of John McCain; and the lovely folk like rush limbaugh and annie coulter who thinks presidential candidates should be killed in terrorist attacks for disagreeing with her perverse political views.

The dems are wusses compared to the right.

Oh they will benefit greatly. He's already promised them 850
Billion American taxpayer dollars. He's really more their presidente than ours! I am so very very very happy.

How so? McCain wanted to continue down the same road as Bush. THAT my friend, is not change. You right freaks are ridiculous... scrambling to find something wrong.. but you can't! lol

Republicans don't have a say in the matter. The Democrats run Congress. If things go great, they can take credit. If things go wrong, they have to take the blame.

Only problem with that is, we won't see the damage OR the good that has been done for maybe 20 years hence in some cases. The Government moves slow. Ideas instituted a year ago may not be seen as effective or catastrophic until the smoke and rhetoric dies down.

I saw a poll once that asked the question 'Who was the worst President in History?'

Of course it was a recent poll and Bush was, of course the 'worst ever seen!!' at a whopping 69%.

Richard Nixon was at 3%!!!!

I lost a lot of faith in polls after that.

Anyway we will see todays acts through the mirror of history, just be cautioned 'Objects in that mirror may be closer than they appear'

I think the Coulter line about Edwards being killed in a terrorist attack was taken out of context. I think it is a poor example and should not be used. However, Coulter has made some very strong divisive comments. For example:

I think the government should be spying on all Arabs, engaging in torture as a televised spectator sport, dropping daisy cutters wantonly throughout the Middle East and sending liberals to Guantanamo.

We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too.

And Limbaugh also with comments like:

"I tell people don't kill all the liberals, leave enough around so we can have two on every campus; living fossils, so we will never forget what these people stood for."

Even Hannity:

"This is the moment to say that there are things in life worth fighting and dying for and one of 'em is making sure [Rep.] Nancy Pelosi [D-CA] doesn't become the [House] speaker."

I have commented before about how talk this divisive and polarizing is dangerous. Even the titles of their books create the specter that someone's very life may be threatened or the nation may collapse if Democrats hold office. I feel like Bush has damaged our nation. I do not feel that any Republican who holds office is a threat to our entire way of life. But when those low-class pundits spew out hate speech you can end up with incidents like this one in Tennessee.

How is having a president that wants to consolidate federal power going to make your State job more secure? :poke:

Bush let a war start on 9-11 because wartime presidents have more power and authority.

Enjoy Obama having that same power.

Plz, Did He Give Bush A Fair Shake?
I Will Judge Obama The Way He Judged Bush
If I Lose My Job It's Obama Fault.
If I Get Paid Less It's Obama Fault
If I Pay More In Food, Gas It's Obama's Fault

It was pretty much the American people who judged Bush.

And, you'll have to forgive him if it takes Obama a while to clean up the mess the repubs left behind.

It took a few years for this great economy to get here, so give Obama a few, ok?
