Republicans: Bullshitting about Death Panels in Plain Sight

You'll support Obama no matter what he says or does. I support no politician unconditionally. So who's the partisan hack ? ........:eusa_whistle:

You're like the Republican response last night, did you even bother to fucking listen you hack?

I have even said in this thread I believe that Obama left out key specifics last night. I have said I disagreed with several things in his speech last night. I disagree with MANY of his current policies, many of which are following the Bush Administration's former ways. Those same ways he spoke out against as a candidate.

So no, I don't support Obama no matter what he says or does. I am probably his biggest "Liberal" critic on this board. You may support no politician unconditionally but you'll support one side unconditionally. So before you run your mouth, know the facts you partisan hack.

Comedy Hour!

Pffft, you amuse me kid ....

Most threads you post are either:

A) Demonizing Republicans

or

B) Cheerleading Obama/Dems ....

Playing the age card now that I backed you into a corner?

A.) I don't "demonize" Republicans, I post merely the facts. The Republicans are just as useless as the Democrats.

B.) Show me one thread where I "cheerlead" Pelosi and Reid. Go ahead, do it. I don't cheerlead any Dem. I may support what SOME Dems say but not always. For example, I do believe the Heller Amendment should of passed if it's sole purpose was to make sure illegals cannot get this Government Health Care.

You've met your match rummy, I'm not some Liberal who is a Obamabot nor a Liberal who is a Dem cheerleader. Hell, I'm not even a Democrat. I'm more likely to join the Libertarian party than the Democratic Party. I know bullshit when I see it, and you spew it like it's water.

Actually that you may be at the head of the line of 'liberals' that criticize Obama speaks to an encyclopedic failure on the part of the left. Truly the failure of posters like Jillian saddens me, because at this point politically many were bashing Bush from the right. Perhaps it speaks to the failure of the left, I've really not a clue.

]If you are about to go bankrupt, is it un-American to tighten your belt and cut expenses? We either need to dramatically reduce the size of Medicare, or dramatically increase the Medicare taxes on my generation. Our collective denial of the problem has only made it worse.

Well, we could let the current situation continue until Medicare collapses due to insolvency, or the country collapses due to money printing/hyperinflation.

P.S. When you cut expenses, does that mean you eliminate ALL expenses? I'd check the dictionary if I were you.

When I mentioned they wanted to cut medicare, I should of added in general, not just simple cuts.

Medicare needs to be revamped and the waste taken out. However, getting rid of Medicare in general like Republicans want is only going to create a new problem. It is not unAmerican to tighten the belt and cut expenses. It is unAmerican however to take the belt and pants.

Do you agree with me that eliminating Medicare in general would only create another problem down the road? Do you agree with me that it needs to be revamped instead of eliminated?

Obama tells us that the health care bill is not intended to provide medical care to illegal aliens. Why is he telling us this lie over and over again? He's got to know that America does not believe him. I know he's at least that smart.

Care to explain this point more? I'm unsure whether that is an insult or a compliment towards me or neither.

It wasn't a compliment. However, your post spoke volumes.

I do not see the problem it's loss would create? It would reduce our life expectancy, which would in fact benefit the government by reducing social security expenses?

As long as we have public pension plans (Social Security), there is a significant incentive for the government to reduce life expectancy. Eventually, the savings from the reduced life expectancy could be used to pay for pork-barrel projects, ensuring that our leaders become politicians-for-life, like the late Ted Kennedy

Don't be a hypocrite, YOU would be creating Death Panels. It would become where they say "sorry, better luck next lifetime" to the poor seniors and only the rich can pay for health coverage.

Some of these people's only income is Social Security and that doesn't pay for everything now a days. So if you cut Medicare, plenty will be in BIG trouble.

Republicans are saying the Democrats are trying to kill Grandma with Death Panels except that whole part of the bill was part of a separate bill that was cosponsored by the man who did the Republican response last night.

If that's not bullshitting in plain sight, I'm not sure what is.

Might want to forward your 'info' to Obama's teleprompter.

Look who shows up, the partisan hack who also posted the "Jane Strum" link last night but ran with your tail between your legs when I completely proved you wrong. Don't you have a "Obama is a Socialist" rally to attend to?

Edit: I see you've edited your post. Stop being such a hack.

I think you have gone right off the deepend.

You poor little obamabot. I actually feel sorry for you. No wonder you're so bitter, it has to be hard to keep carrying this turd's water. Not really what you expected is it? LOL!

And no I didn't see your post but I will respond to it now.

My posts in this thread and across the board will speak the volumes of my opinions. I'm not an obamabot, this much has been proven. So keep avoiding the subject that you're dishonest, some of us are actually trying to have a meaningful conversation here.

False Euthanasia Claims | FactCheck.org

Boehner/McCotter statement, July 23: Section 1233 of the House-drafted legislation encourages health care providers to provide their Medicare patients with counseling on “the use of artificially administered nutrition and hydration” and other end of life treatments, and may place seniors in situations where they feel pressured to sign end of life directives they would not otherwise sign. This provision may start us down a treacherous path toward government-encouraged euthanasia if enacted into law.

We can’t argue with Boehner’s claim that counseling “may” cause more seniors to refuse treatment such as artificial nutrition and hydration, but we see no evidence that it will. There’s certainly no requirement in the bill that seniors decline life support or extraordinary measures of medical treatment.
Furthermore, seniors have had control over the end-of-life issues the Republicans are concerned about for a long time. California first legally ratified the use of advance directives like living wills in 1976, and the 1990 Patient Self-Determination Act mandated patients’ rights to decide what degree of intervention they prefer.

Though there are still controversies over what care patients should be allowed to refuse and under what circumstances, the fact is that the right to refuse care is nothing new.

As for the argument claiming that this is the first step on a slippery slope leading to government-encouraged euthanasia, that’s a stretch. The right to draw up an advance directive is federally guaranteed, but doctor-assisted suicide is legal in only three states. It would take a lot more than Medicare-funded counseling for voluntary euthanasia to become a standard government recommendation.

The original author of this part of the legislation responded to Boehner’s and McCotter’s statement on the House floor, saying that "nothing could be further from the truth." The section under question was based on a stand-alone piece of legislation sponsored by Democratic Rep. Earl Blumenauer of Oregon and Republican Rep. Charles Boustany of Louisiana. Three more Democrats and another Republican cosponsored the legislation. On July 24, Blumenauer expressed his "disappointment" in Boehner’s misinterpretation of the bipartisan bill:

Now where have I heard that name Charles Boustany before.

Oh right..

I love how the Republicans followed Obama with Senator Foghorn Leghorn from Swamptown, Miss.

I believe we have very different ideas of what a person can live on. You've never lived below the poverty line, I take it?
