Washington (CNN) -- When presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney appears before Latino small-business owners in Washington on Tuesday, he'll address a group whose explosive birth rates foreshadow a seismic political shift in GOP strongholds in the Deep South and Southwest.

"The Republicans' problem is their voters are white, aging and dying off," said David Bositis, a senior research associate at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, who studies minority political engagement.

"There will come a time when they suffer catastrophic losses with the realization of the population changes."

Over the next several generations, the wave of minority voters -- who, according to U.S. Census figures released this week, now represent more than half of the nation's population born in the past year -- will become more of a power base in places like Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. That hold will extend across the Southwest all the way to California, experts say.

Talk about being in denial.

The GOP is going to openly become a white nationalist party, it's the only thing they have left.

If you are convinced that the government of mexico is well run, you will be pleased with this information.

Hey, ma. I found out why CNN's ratings are in the toilet.

Now you know why democrats have to depend on immigration to increase their number. They are aborting themselves into oblivion.

Is that a fact? Interesting study conducted decades ago indicated that the vast majority of liberal college students moved their political affiliation toward the center and right of center once they were married and employed. Common sense over ideology or is it a case of reality knocking on the door? Interesting in that this thread states "conservatives are dieing off" so, it must be safe to assume those that built this economic Juggernaut and fought to preserve our freedom are those very same people dieing off, and unfortunately for the left a great many were and are loyal but conservative democrat's

Most Republicans voters are on public assistance......Social Security, Medicare, retired military, etc.....

It's so sad.

They just aren't making racists like they used to....

True, however, every legal immigrant I have had the privilege of knowing is conservative and work their ass off, which doesn't say much other than it's the illegals that want a free ride, but that is not the case, they only want an opportunity for a better life.

Most Republicans voters are on public assistance......Social Security, Medicare, retired military, etc.. and only 6% of them are scientists too

You are an aging party.

That is your own fault.

You promote historically failed ideas

Once even college kids start experiencing the effects of liberal policies they normally change. They might sincerely believe in redistribution of wealth, until they understand what it means. How many college kids are willing to go accept grade distribution? They just went around asking students if they were willing to accept a lower grade to bring up the grades of those failing. Not many went along with that plan. When they start working, they see the same thing with their earnings.
