Stateless in Somalia, and Loving It - Yumi Kim - Mises Daily

Somalia has done very well for itself in the 15 years since its government was eliminated. The future of peace and prosperity there depends in part on keeping one from forming.

To understand more about the country without a government, turn to The Law of the Somalis, written by Michael van Notten (1933-2002) and edited by Spencer Heath MacCallum, sheds light on the little known Somali law, culture and economic situation.

Somali Gay Community - Somali Culture and Homosexuality

(a pretty good indication of how minorities would be treated in such a society)

Homosexuality in Somalian communities is as extensive as in any other ethnic community, the only difference is that it’s done in private and secrecy thus not openly visible. Arab and Muslim governments turn a blind eye to homosexual practices as long as it stays in the dark. But conspicuous punishments await those who dare to test the limits of the law. In several occasions when gays came to the open and in case a gay marriage was conducted, they had to face the shame of the community and the hand of law.

You know, I followed rdean's links. Here's the website that he references:

"The Ludwig von Mises Institute was founded in 1982 as the research and educational center of classical liberalism, libertarian political theory, and the Austrian School of economics."

Austrian school of economics? Isn't that in the same building as the Yugo school of Automotive Engineering? Oh wait, I think it's down the hall from the Ted Kennedy Center for Sobriety and Responsible Citizenship. Or is that the Jeffrey Dahmer Culinary Institute? Perhaps I have it confused with the Kim Kardashian School for Marital Longevity? I know I have a Groupon for attending the three-day Van Jones Old-Fashioned American Values seminar in that same building, but I'm a little confused as to where it is.

You really couldn't make this stuff up. Really... you couldn't.

They also clearly do not have a clue what 'classical liberalism' is. Classical Liberalism is more akin to Conservativism than socialism. I guess the socialists are gonna try and steal the 'Classical Liberal' label too.

You can't miss it. It's right across the hall from the closet where truthmatters holds her Dimocrats Never Cheat In Elections seminar.

Come on guys, you know that if you feed it, it will only hang around and shit on the floor.

The MAFIA wants smaller government, too.

Criminals tend to be like that until, of course, they control the government.

Then they're ALL OVER loving the law of the land.
