Republican Morality

Why do republicans hate the poor but love the rich?

"If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered." Proverbs 21:13

What can one make of the statements below?

"If you're low-income...in many states you can qualify for Medicaid, you can qualify for food stamps, you can qualify for housing assistance, [even] if you're in poverty...That is not a healthy thing for children, it's not a healthy thing for society...Suffering, if you're a Christian, suffering is a part of life. And it's not a bad thing, it is an essential thing in life...There are all different ways to suffer. One way to suffer is through lack of food and shelter and there's another way to suffer which is lack of dignity and hope." Rick

"Really poor children in really poor neighborhoods have no habits of working and have nobody around them who works. So they literally have no habit of showing up on Monday. They have no habit of staying all day. They have no habit of 'I do this and you give me cash,' unless it's illegal." ¶ "You have a very poor neighborhood. You have kids who are required under law to go to school. They have no money. They have no habit of work. What if you paid them part-time in the afternoon to sit at the clerical office and greet people when they came in? What if you paid them to work as the assistant librarian? And I'd pay them as early as is reasonable and practical. ¶ "I am prepared to find something that works, that breaks us out of the cycles we're involved in right now, and finding a way for poor children to learn how to work and learning how to have money that they've earned honestly is an integral part of that." Newt

Note to Rick and Newt's mom, Mrs Mom you raised an awful child.

Who was it that said the past is never past. They missed Newt.

"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money." Matthew 6:24

How many poor people have you taken into your home and shared your bounty with?

When someone, anyone, can show me something republicans have done for America that is good for America, I'll stop picking on them.

Oh so i assume you think blacks should still be slaves, huh?

Lincoln could not be a republican today, not even Reagan could be a republican. Goldwater would be unacceptable and Eisenhower would be an out and out socialist Marxist in the world of the republicans today. There are lots of good republicans, they just have no voice in the party today because the party is only in love with Money and priviledge.

the Job creators.

Tell me one thing the right has fought for that doesnt weigh heavily in the wealthys direction?

Tax cuts
Spending cuts
Cutting regulations Those benefit everyone.

You would need to live in an alternate universe to even say that given the crash of 2008 after all those things were enacted. They failed and you can check here for a brief history. http://www.usmessageboard.com/politics/186726-republican-ideology-through-history-7.html#post4251322

You remind me of someone. lets see, oh yeah, cammmbpell and dragon. Are you guys triplets or did you all go to the same school of idiocy.

If you really are for America you have to do better than ad hominem, off the topic, replies. Address the issue or get out some history books and learn.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10

Did you read who the OP was talking about? Obviously not, below is more info if you care to learn a bit.

False Premise. You do that allot. You should be linking Quotes. ;) It helps wit context and credibility. :)

So quoted words are false? I guess I missed that when mom used to say be nice and think. I grant you that these quotes are aimed at the code of the republican party today but Newt is often saying don't believe what I say. A rather odd human don't you think?

"“Facts” are not Gingrich’s forte. Yet he is now the Republican front-runner. It just goes to show how bankrupt of compassion and allergic to accuracy that party is becoming."

"This is the kind of statement that shines light on the soul of a man and shows how dark it is.

Gingrich wants to start with the facts? O.K.

First, as I’ve pointed out before, three out of four poor working-aged adults — ages 18 to 64 — work. Half of them have full-time jobs and a quarter work part time." http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/03/opinion/blow-newts-war-on-poor-children.html?src=me&ref=general

Why waste space. Comment below.

Why does midcan5 hate America?

Another fudge of the premise, it has to be obvious why republicans vote for such mean spirited people, but you know what mom said.

Why do left-wing trolls require a false premise in order to try and make any kind of argument, no matter how transparent and ridiculous?

All Christians Drank The Kool-Aid

Christians believe everyone should have a life beginning at erection and feel honored if they suffer like Job......except themselves. They believe parts of the bible which ask sacrifice ot others and in their minds know that god doesn't expect it of them. They have known from childhood that no matter what they do............including murder their god will forgive them. They selectively read the new testament and apply parts of it to their family, friends and colleagues but don't have to worry beyond that. About the tithing...they know that god will forgive them if they buy a toy for their favorite son and only drop a twenty into the plate. I've watched them for more than 60 years. I know them like a book.

About a year ago I was in a neighboring city. I was driving past a big mall and a new Cadillac Escalade merged in from my right. The first thing I noticed wasa golden Christian fish on the right rear of the vehicle. As he completed the merge in front of me I noticed a big bumper sticker which simply declared, "This Family Is Blessed!"

I almost laughed out loud. I immediately thought of the nearly a billion, mostly children by default, who are starving or suffering from malnutrition. Who in the name of goodness is so absolutely convinced that they deserve new, luxurious vehicles when the new testament's basic theme is "Sell What You Have And Give It To The Poor" and "A Rich Man Has As Much Chance To Enter The Kingdom Of Gawd As A Camel Has To Pass Through The Eye Of A Needle"

The history books you libtards twist the facts in to fit into your twisted fantasy world? I don't think so. You hate this country so much leave, please, we would be better off without the likes of you.

Hey, bitch, we know you are a bigoted shitbag. We haven't forgotten, so stop trying so hard, you bitter, insecure, fucking fraud.

LOL!!!!So now it's fraud....usually idiot or moron.

I've had three IQ tests during my lifetime...High School in Oak Ridge, TN, OCS training in the army and mensa in Knoxville, TN. Average score...129.

You have to call me names because you've completely run out of something to say...which wasn't very much to begin with. (excuse my ending that sentence with a preposition...it was simply more convenient.)

How many times are you going to post your IQ scores on threads to support your bullshit? 1) No one is going to believe you anyhow. 2) IQ test are notoriously unreliable, and 3) The first thing I think of when someone starts throwing around their IQ scores is "this guy is losing and he knows it".

A great philosopher once pointed out that if you have to tell someone how great, smart, and wonderful you are, you are not nearly as great, smart, or wonderful as you think you are.

All that is hardly the point huh? You said

Ok I showed you one and met your criteria. Now be a man of your word and shut the fuck up.

Why do republicans and conservatives always drag down the conversation with ad homs and vulgarity? When you can't address the issue name calling is the best they can do. And so it goes.

In my OP I quoted two contemporary republicans and their words, no one challenges this point. It cannot be challenged as words once spoken are not erasable. So instead the apologists bring up past republicans who could not be republicans today. Imagine that Reagan raised taxes many times, and in a bipartisan manner helped social security, one of America's great accomplishments. But Reagan was a republican and the democrats, unlike republicans, worked with him on those two tough issues.

I guess we have to assume since Gingrich is leading in the polls for republicans that his ideas and values reflect republican ideas and values. Rather sad when you think about it. Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio.....

I think the political opponents on the right cannot challenge your point with facts. Perhaps they prefer the thought of a Presidential candidate who would reverse child labor laws.

If they think that will grow the economy they are sadly wrong.

All depends on who's propaganda you fall for.

The OP actually thinks Obama and his pals give a shit about the poor. I've made peace with understanding the crazy assumptions partisans make in order to continue their allegiances with their loony parties, so now I just laugh at it.

I addressed them. She made the point that "Republicans hate the poor" but I quoted stats on charitable donations and provided links that show that Republicans give far more to the poor despite having a slightly lower average income, they volunteer time more, they give more blood.....strangely that seems to be ignored by the liberals who apparently love to bitch about the plight of the poor but don't seem to do much about it.

She followed by saying:
When someone, anyone, can show me something republicans have done for America that is good for America, I'll stop picking on them.

She issued a challenge, defined the criteria, and stated the outcome. I simply met her criteria, yet she is continuing to whine. So apparently, her word is worth nothing. Why am I not surprised?

False premises are a fail in any discussion. Midcan didn't even get out of the gate.

The rest of any "discussion" is just gravy.

No one has successfully challenged Midcan's assertion yet. Republicans don't mind spending money on welfare--corporate welfare-- not poor people. This is the kind of contribution they make:

"Hey, bitch, we know you are a bigoted shitbag. We haven't forgotten, so stop trying so hard, you bitter, insecure, fucking fraud."
