Republican Anti-Tax Stance Softens Ahead Of 2012 Election

In recent months, growing numbers of Republican lawmakers and strategists have grown wary of the no-exceptions position. They fear independent voters will abandon the GOP next year if it seems too rigid and beholden to tea partyers. They also worry that another deficit-reduction impasse will further erode Congress' image, and House Republicans might be handy election targets.

I thought Dems were the scared ones, LMBO. Anyways, I think they exaggerating when they say they're compromising.

Obama encourages kaos in this country and walks away..just the agitator..just the punk spoiled brat manchild...cuz to odinga riots and including there was anarchy..ayers teaches/encourages failed socialism/anarchy..where are the tough question on Barry Soetoro...walking away....

Distraction, financial crisis, cronie congress critters, lack of econ fundamentals and on and on and no marshall law to the ows who have been orchestrated/notified/organized by job listing:
MAKE A DIFFERENCE ON URGENT CAMPAIGNS! GET PAID!
Let's not forget PATRICK GASPARD, obama's right hand man social agitation/instigation/organizing unions of many factions.

Toomey's plan would raise $300 billion in new tax revenues while overhauling the federal tax code. Republican officials say it would drop the top tax rate on personal income to 28 percent from the current 35 percent. It would reduce or eliminate some well-known itemized deductions and reduce the corporate tax rate.

The plan also would extend the Bush-era tax cuts, now set to expire at the end of next year. Most Democrats oppose that idea. It also would trim cost-of-living increases for Social Security recipients.

Note how SCROOGE MC Toomy's plan works.

Give taxes breaks to billionaires, AND pay for those by reducing social security benefits for the elderly.

Thats why I said they're weren't really compromising, they're just exaggerating.

As people increasingly realize how nonsensical the GOP position is, taking from our seniors and children to give tax breaks to the very wealthy, more and more voters will vote for Dems or independents.

Exactly. When you look at polling on issues, the GOP is miles away from the rest of the country. What do Americans want? Increased taxes on the wealthy. What do Republicans say they won't do? Increase taxes on the wealthiest Americans.

What do Americans say they don't want? Cuts to education, Social Security and Medicare. What do the Republicans want to do? Cut education, Social Security and Medicare.
