And the news just keeps on getting better and better as we speak. Adios Saudi Arabia. Hello $2 gal gas.

U.S. to become biggest oil producer and energy independent - Nov. 12, 2012

LONDON (CNNMoney) -- The United States will overtake Saudi Arabia to become the world's biggest oil producer before 2020, and will be energy independent 10 years later, according to a new forecast by the International Energy Agency.

The recent resurgence in oil and gas production, and efforts to make the transport sector more efficient, are radically reshaping the nation's energy market

The delusion is strong in this one.

The only thing Americans will see is rising energy prices due to artificial scarcity.

Just because that oil is being produced here doesn't mean it'll stay here.

All that oil isn't worth shit when you can't build a refinery or are forced to shut others down.

What did Barack Obama have to do with it? The areas that he DID control saw oil production go way down...the areas that he DIDN'T control saw oil production go way up. Yet somehow you see this as an "accomplishment" of Barack Obama? Too funny...

We have more than enough refining capacity. Why do you think we export so much refined product? The oil we are recovering now is not cheap. Saudi Arabia has cheap oil. All OPEC needs to do is drive prices down to where shale oil is no longer profitable and they will cap-um.

We export large quantities because what we refine here we often times can't use here because of emissions laws. Why do you think the price of gasoline in California is so much higher than other parts of the US? We have to import some types of gas because we don't have the refinery capabilities to produce enough of it here.

California is a net exporter of refined gas.

Q: Can California "import" gas from other parts of the U.S.?

A: No. California is part of the West region — there are five total regions in the U.S. — and is often described as an "island" as far as the oil-and-gas market is concerned. In fact, other western states rely on California to operate as a gas exporter. Pipelines carrying gas could be built from other regions to the West, but because California uses a specially formulated type of gas (see above), it doesn't make sense for refiners to make the commitment.

Again. Refining capacity is not the issue.

Horse shit.

Obama has his filthy finger in a lot of pies, but not this one.

wow

that sounds so familiar!

"HOBBS, N.M. — Mitt Romney unveiled an energy plan Thursday that he said would make North America energy independent by 2020, at what would be the end of his second term as president."

Oh right!

I can verify this (to an extent). Seriously.

One of our customers is directly involved with oil production.

They just received orders all the way out to 2015, ALL domestic.. Previously all of their business was in South America, production facilities here in the US are all slated for production.

lol. Brazil just received billions because Obama wants to be their best customer. Thank you Prez Obama.
The state of Ohio has been leased to Chesapeake. Didn't find any quotes from Obama about wanting to be their best customer..........

Stealing from the rich in America, benefits Brazilians. It's not doing a hell of a lot to benefit America though.

I think the $ to Brazil thing was shot down in another thread.

Regardless... this is about a prolific industry taking on the challenges of market and government and coming out on top in a way that's beneficial to the entire country.

It's not about Obama. Screw him and his mindless minions.

You must have us confused with Brazil.

“We want to work with you. We want to help with technology and support to develop these oil reserves safely, and, when you’re ready to start selling, we want to be one of your best customers.”

Too bad for American Workers and companies that Brazil Oil giant Petrobras didn't take the IMEX banks offer of 2 billion in loans.

Whooossssshhhhhhh..........
