Report: Los Angeles spent $70 million in stimulus funds to create 7.76 jobs

The $71 million that went to the Department of Public Works, which funded 15 road-surfacing and similar projects, was projected to save or create 238 jobs. But according to the audit, the money created just 7.76 jobs — or slightly more than $10 million per new job — and saved 37.7 (the fractions are a result of calculating the number of jobs by hours worked). The Department of Transportation's $40 million created or retained just nine jobs, the audit found.

Shameful. Even that dude that's counted as .76 of a person is walking home with 6mil.

i will give you a clue....my guess is every single job (and yes this is only a guess) it was UNION jobs that were created which is why they cost so much.

Sounds about right. It costs $5 million to pave 1 mile of 4 lanes and how many people does it take to do that? Not many.

It's only money. They can grow some more!

Unfettered Socialism = Third World Misery. This nation is rapidly moving towards Third World misery and you can thank the Socialist loons for this. I said before the Election that our entire nation would soon resemble the Third World Nightmare in Chicago if the Socialist/Marxist "Community Organizer" was elected. I feel i am being proven more & more correct every day. I'm not happy though because this really is very very sad. Make 2010 count people. Get out and vote.
