No. Hamas does not want a truce. That is why the attacks aimed at Israel (border riots and rocket barrages), have been ramping up recently.
Hamas is facing an angry population of UNRWA welfare recipients who are out of their no-show jobs and welfare checks.
One of the first rules in the maintenance of totalitarianism is to invent an external enemy to deflect scrutiny and criticism of the real enemy: the internal oppressor(s). In the case of an islamic terrorist organization, there is a obvious external enemy. Hamas is the internal oppressor and will be the primary focus for those not receiving a paycheck while the Hamas politburo rulers live in luxury. We will be treated to the usual staged chants organized to vilify The Great Satan but Hamas knows that they need to deflect the rage of those with the pitckforks and shovels toward an external enemy.
