She calls the banks gangsters and demands Obama to force them to allow people to keep the houses they can't afford. Says "we will tax them out of business" if they don't do what we want.

Now who is the gangster in this scenario? Seems to me its her. Not only that these people who got these houses they couldn't afford to begin with, got them because of democratic policies.

Waters is buying votes anyway she can. If you can't afford it you can't have it. I am renting because I can't afford to buy and I am hoping that the gov't will not do a damn thing, I will take care of it quite nicely on my own. thank you very much

That woman is bat. shit. crazy.

And she's corrupt.

is she supposed to use the tax system as a weapon? "We're gonna tax them outta business?" really! lends credence to the story that the banks were strong armed into loaning money to those who could not pay it back doesn't it?

Indeed it does. And the left likes to deny it....:eusa_whistle:

So we loan the banks billions of tax payer money under Tarp, but we cannot do anything for Middle class Americans? Talk about double standard hypocrisy! Sheesh!

well, Maxine has a way of letting the cat outta the bag. I think she just verified why the economy is in the shitter. I've suspected all along.

She's only saying shit that the liberal/socialists believe, but are too cowardly to say and stand behind.
Although I think she's a fuckin' nut, at least she stands for her beliefs, however messed up they are.

There's absolutely no need to "tax" them.

Move government accounts out of banks..and have government review some of the business practices in which the government uses banks as a conduit to provide loans.

Those things alone would be a nice little incentive to re-think mortgages.

She is just trying to stir the far left into a frenzy. She like Frank is in a completely safe district. Their people are as nuts as they are apparently.

Seriously.. you think it makes perfect economic sense to guarantee someone a house they cannot possibly afford?

Why should I pay for a house because some asshat committed to something he can't afford?

You can't afford it... it gets forclosed upon, that's how it works.

Fine. And while we're at it, let's have a non-partisan investigation into the actions of both Republicans and Democrats as well as organizations such as ACORN and the SEIU and their involvement in the sub-prime collapse.

What would happen if you don't pay rent?

First, the damage has been done. No one can argue that.

Second, the Clinton Administration ALONG WITH the Republican Congress at the time is the main culprit. They allowed the Carter Error Community Reinvestment Act to be revived, the gave Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae power to create a secondary mortgage market, Glass-Steagal Act (allowing investment and commercial banks to form), but LENDERS made the loans. They allowed it to happen. They are still a culprit in this mess. Funny people on the left don't want to assign any blame to the Clinton Administration who started, yet the right doesn't want to assign any blame to the lender who made the loans. Yes the gov forced them to provide loans to lower ethalon borrowers, but they could have done it smarter.

Third, the banks took bailout money, SO WHY THEY HELL SHOULDN'T WE FORCE THEM TO DO THINGS!!! The bailout money wasn't to get them a profti! It was to keep them from going under!

I am against forcing the banks to make new loans to people who can't afford them. However, for the loans that are currently out there, the banks should be forced to accept most reasonable short sales. A borrower shouldn't have to be close to bankrutpcy, late on the mortgage or in serious financial troubles. The bank need to take a hit also.

The banks should also be forced to give borrowers loan modification. Part of taking TARP bail out money was so they would give loan mods. The banks have done everything possible to avoid loan mods. It's disgusting. If a loan mod makes the home affordable, then it should be done!

The left has to stop saying more regulation is the only answer, but the right needs to stop saying that poor lenders shouldn't do dick!

The banks paid back the bail outs. What makes you think our govt in a free market society has any rights to impose new standards in the banking industry?

I know. Neither party, or it's sheep, would like it.... but independents would love it. Because we don't play party politics.

In seriousness, we really should investigate the whole fucking bunch. And some of them should go to prison for what they did to their fellow Americans.

Agreed. Let the chips fall where they may.
