Unfortunately, for me, he indulges the ugly bits of conservatism, and ignores the good parts. I respect conservatism for its focus on constitutionally limited government, free markets and individual liberty. Trump caters to the authoritarian side of conservatism. And the authoritarian side of conservatism shares the basic conceit of Democrats - "We know better".

Unfortunately, for me, he indulges the ugly bits of conservatism, and ignores the good parts. I respect conservatism for its focus on constitutionally limited government, free markets and individual liberty. Trump caters to the authoritarian side of conservatism. There were a lot of "Never Trumpers" on the GOP side who were butt hurt over Hillary Clinton's loss, because she was a person who could be bought, influenced and accepted Bribes and did things The Washington Way.
Rather than adapting to the change and seizing The Initiative, they chose to fight The President leaving him to Go IT Alone for the first 3 years of his Presidency.
So much more could have gotten done had they simply banded together and worked as a team.
