Remember when the left mocked us for saying gas would hit 5 bucks by election day?

$5/gallon will the the good ole days if Obama is reelected, his energy Sec said so

Average price of gas was $1.89 on Jan 26 2009.

When have we seen gas prices like that under this administration? With a President who pushes government investment into a Chevy Volt, regulations that attempts to eliminate further coal production, and throwing money at financial unstable companies that support green energy, WILL we ever find gas prices like that again?

looks like that as soon as obama came into office....gas prices started rising

but obama gets a pass while bush got the blame

:eusa_shhh:

Compared to what? We still have much lower prices than most major countries in the world.

I don't live in Europe. I live here so i don't really give a damn what they pay. By your measure i should also support the talibans repression of women.

Failed logic

Failed logic is your stupid statement about Taliban women... And knowing nothing about gas prices.
And you just have to cross over the border to Canada to pay those higher prices, you know a country with a larger supply of oil than us. Canada kind of proves the drill baby crowd are morons.

No its proof of shitty govt. The govt in Canada controls everything.

See, yet another who thinks that we should price oil beyond the reach of the average person.

Completely ignoring the fact that when you do that, people can't afford to heat their homes in the winter, or gas their cars up to go shopping and see the doctor...

You want the government to put price controls on petroleum products?

The point was opening up our reserves and drilling in certain places isn't going to lower prices. Wow! You are quick.

Of course you think Obama is to blame for our prices which are some of the lowest in the world.

And left wing idiots apparently are too stupid to see presidential policies DO affect gas prices.

WTI Crude is at $88.00 a gallon last I checked.

But oil companies have been closing refineries left and right.

And one of the largest refineries in California, where the highest prices are occurring, suddenly burned to the ground.

I suspect there were a couple of guys named Vinnie and Domenic, from New Jersey, that pulled off that job.

They're pulling the same scam that Enron pulled on California:

Throttle the supply at the refining end, and you'll get more money for less effort.

And if you lose anything, you can make it up trading energy futures on the black markets.

I fail to see how this has anything at all to do with "presidential policies", unless you're referring to not nationalizing the oil industry, but I figure you're probably not in favor of that...

Bush started an unnecessary war in the ME that put a premium on oil prices. His cronies in the oil business made a lot of money off that.

Only the worst recession since the Great Depression was able to drive prices down.

Bush started an unnecessary war in the ME that put a premium on oil prices

First of all, you know NOTHING about the energy industry. And second, I'm against the wars in the middle east, but your wanting Hussein in power who murdered and terrorized his own people, used WMD's on multiple occasions whether or not they were found and started two wars in order to maintain gas prices is just sick.

You want the government to put price controls on petroleum products?

Perhaps they could just help lower prices by Increasing Domestic Supply, By allowing more exploration and Drilling on Federal land.

Oh wait that wont happen. it requires logic. Instead lets throw Hundreds of Billions of Dollars into Green energy projects that wont help us for Years if ever and stand in the way of Domestic Oil and gas Production.

Then we can blame the Evil Oil Companies for High Prices and pretend our own Energy Policy is not to blame.

:eusa_shhh:

Actually the record show that it was during President Bush 8 year that gas price skyrocketed to the current levels. The only blip was during the Bush recession. You remember that don't you? You know when the stock maket tanked, Banks were failing left an right. We were loosing 700,000 jobs per month. Then once President Obama got the Stimulus pass (with very little thanks to the GOP) things slowing started recovering.....

The only blip was during the Bush recession

Which recession the Democrats always talk about are you referring to? The second one that did start under W or the first one that started under Clinton?

Here's the thing with the second one though, usually they last about 18 months. Obama managed to take the Bush recession and drag it out into 4 years now and no end in site. I like how you blame Bush for a recession that started 6 months before he took office, but you don't blame Obama for a recession 4 years into his Presidency.

Maybe if I were blind like you I'd do that too, but I'm not...

THis is all in line with Obama's plan. He wanted to price oil beyond the reach of the average person in order to "force" them to use alternate energy.

Unfortunately, what will happen is the elderly are going to freeze to death.

Which is also in keeping with his plan.

Yep.

Canada has more supply and higher prices.
Oil production is also up in the US, with demand down. You would do better suggesting US oil not be exported or sold on the world market, then suggesting we drill more.
And if you consider inflation isn't the price of gas at a pretty normal rate?
