Remember Eric Garner?

NEW YORK (AP) — A state appeals court on Thursday upheld the New York Police Department’s decision to fire an officer for the 2014 chokehold death of Eric Garner.

A five-judge panel of the state Supreme Court’s Appellate Division ruled that there was substantial evidence showing that Daniel Pantaleo acted recklessly and that firing him was an appropriate outcome.

It’s still a joke. All the murderer got was losing his job. He should have faced murder charges as nearly all Americans would, should they kill someone. How are we ever to stop cops from acting badly, if they aren’t brought to justice when they murder someone?

The officer waa fired as a show. He will go somewhere else. The chokehold had nothing to do with Garner's death. Garner was breathing normally when put in the ambulance. He had a massive heart attack complicated by morbid obesity and diabetes.

He died because rogue cops had nothing better to do than harass a poor man. Had they not harassed him, he doesn’t die. Hence, murder.

The cops weren't "rogue", they were following instructions from City Hall to crack down on ne'er-do-wells selling cigarettes without a license from the City of New York.

The real question is why Mr. Garner just didn't cooperate with the cops, and instead decided to fight them. It isn't like he hadn't been cited and pinched for this offense before.

Killing over selling cigarettes. Only in the American police state, and you defend it.
