A day before New York Rep. Peter King called Michael Jackson a “pervert” unworthy of nonstop media coverage, the aunt of a U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan on the same day Jackson died asked why her nephew's death went virtually unnoticed while the King of Pop got memorial shrines across the country.

"Mr. Jackson received days of wall-to-wall coverage in the media," Martha Gillis wrote to the Washington Post. "Where was the coverage of my nephew or the other soldiers who died that week?"

Gillis' nephew, Lt. Brian Bradshaw, 24, died in Kheyl, Afganistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Bradshaw, of Steilacoom, Wash., was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division in Fort Richardson, Alaska. He was one of at least 13 U.S. soldiers to die in Afghanistan since Jackson's death on June 25.

the truth is the left dosen't care about soldiers, we haven't had a daily body count since President Bush left office. They didn't report this just like they didn't report on the killer of the soldier in the recruiting office. that's the truth.

Willow what Rep, King has pointed out is really and indication of an even bigger issue in this nation. That is the where this nations actual interests lay, when we cover and hold up people like Michael Jackson who was clearly not a what anyone would consider a stellar citizen at the expense of those that actually defend this nation and give their lives for us all then it shows how far down we as a nation has truley sunk. Those hero's each and everyone, should receive the accolades that Mr. Jackson is getting today but instead they get protestors at their funerals and a mere mention on the news as if they were numbers on a chart. It really is a shame...

as well she should...we ignored the advancement of 4 thousand troops...7 dead....we do not want to see...the we being the general public

Do you know Tech, I have always thought that one of the main reasons that we have come this far is education and discipline. For too long this nation has looked the other way while we have let our educational system become a bastion of "babysitting" and not one that teaches things such as ethics, history, and a clear appreciation of this nation. I also believe that many in this nation have let schools become the ultimate place to raise their children or the states and do not look to instill them with a sense of self pride and discipline and a sense of right and wrong. We have come this far because we look to those like Mr. Jackson as a source of fame rather than his deeds in life and due to that lack of education and discipline many overlook his deeds and lust for his fame and simply dismiss those that daily sacrifice themselves and their famiies so that we all may have a small measure of peace and comfort.
